Black Iron Order

The Black Iron Order is a black Dragon Mountain Mansion identity token awarded to citizens whose strength is recognized at the Meteor Knight level. For the young Xue Ying, receiving it is both official acknowledgment and the threshold his family sets before revealing how he might rescue his parents. (Chapters 3–4 and 26–28)

History

A childhood objective

Dong Bo Lie, Zong Ling, and Tong San tell Xue Ying that he must first earn the Black Iron Order before they explain the path to rescuing his parents. Dragon Mountain Mansion will send it once it acknowledges his strength, so the token becomes a concrete goal rather than an object he can simply request. (Chapters 3–4)

Recognition and missions

Lord Si An delivers the order after Xue Ying kills the wanted criminal Ge Bin. The black token bears the words “Dragon Mountain” and certifies Meteor Knight strength; it also represents an identity with special powers or backing. Xue Ying then presents it to local guards and accepts Black Iron Order missions to gain experience and merit, although even supposedly simple missions can escalate far beyond their stated danger. The last evidence shows that either a Bloodshed Order or at least a Black Iron Order is required to accept or issue certain missions. The corpus does not record the token being surrendered, upgraded, destroyed, or transferred after Chapter 58. (Chapter 58)

Abilities and properties

• Identification: The token physically identifies its holder to Dragon Mountain authorities and bears the carved name of the institution. (Chapters 27 and 38)
• Rank certification: It signifies recognized Meteor Knight strength, below the more selective Bronze Order and far below Transcendent status. (Chapter 27)
• Mission access: It qualifies a holder to participate in the relevant mission system, but does not make missions safe or prevent intelligence failures and escalation. (Chapters 35, 52, and 58)
• Institutional backing: The order conveys access and recognized support rather than supernatural combat power; no independent magical effect is demonstrated. (Chapter 28)
