Zhang Peng

Zhang Peng is a moustached young Transcendent training in Scarlet Cloud Mountain World. He practices a spatial offensive technique called Space Edge and remains personally friendly toward Dong Bo Xue Ying when other disciples lose confidence in him.

Training at Scarlet Cloud Mountain

Zhang Peng introduces himself cheerfully when Xue Ying joins the training world. After Xue Ying's chosen path is condemned, Zhang Peng is one of the few disciples whose feelings toward him remain genuine. He also joins Pu Yang Bo and Yu Feng in teasing the resentful Situ Hong, using humor to challenge the older disciple's fixation on competing with Xue Ying. (Chapters 131, 137, and 145)

When Chi Qiu Bai arrives to guide the trainees, Zhang Peng listens to criticism of Space Edge rather than rejecting it. His brightened expression suggests he understands the advice that his technique needs more overbearing force, but the corpus does not show the result of any subsequent revision. (Chapters 147–148)

Appearance and personality

Zhang Peng is identified as a man with a moustache. He laughs readily, teases Situ Hong about pride and marriage, and proves more loyal than several peers when Xue Ying's reputation falls. He is also receptive to instruction while retaining responsibility for his own path, in keeping with Chi Qiu Bai's warning that advice cannot replace personal choice. Abilities and cultivation

Zhang Peng controls the Profound Mystery of Space and forms Space Edge entirely from spatial fluctuations, giving the technique considerable cutting power. Its strength is flexibility; its known limitation is insufficient overbearing force. Chi Qiu Bai recommends strengthening that quality, but no later scene confirms that Zhang Peng succeeds or establishes a higher cultivation realm. (Chapters 134 and 148)
