Paragon Emperor Xu is the reputedly undefeated ruler of the Xu Empire in the cosmos visited by Dong Bo Xue Ying as Guest Elder Flying Snow. He attempts to prevent Xue Ying from taking the Black Gourd but badly underestimates the outsider's strength.

Contest for the Black Gourd
Other experts defer to Emperor Xu as their most experienced Paragon when Xue Ying's extraordinary manifestation in the River of Time raises questions. At the Ancient Shrine, Xu sees Xue Ying lift a stone door and realizes the stage-four World Deity is far stronger than expected. He probes whether Xue Ying came from outside the cosmos, then chooses to oppose him because legend says the Black Gourd could confer world-conquering power and permit departure from the cosmos. Emperor Xu orders his disciple to bind Xue Ying with him, but the confrontation ends with one of Xu's bodies killed before the empire's watching cultivators. He nevertheless appears afterward among five Paragons asking whether Xue Ying obtained the gourd, indicating survival beyond that destroyed body. The local corpus contains duplicated material across Chapters 693 and 696 and does not preserve a full mechanical account of the intervening fight, so the exact body arrangement is not expanded further. Emperor Xu is a Paragon supported by the laws and arrays of the Xu Empire, which reduce the collateral effects of the battle over his territory. His experience lets him recognize that lifting the shrine door exceeds his own strength.
