Chen Jiu

Chen Jiu is a Deity World–raised expedition leader who enters Crimson Rock Mountain with Xue Ying. Patient and knowledgeable, he gathers intelligence from earlier teams, coordinates dangerous trials, and develops the eight-armed True Meaning of Eight Dragons. (Chapters 286–336 and 704)

Biography

The Crimson Rock Mountain expedition

Chen Jiu warns Xue Ying about the Dark Abyss team, introduces Chen Gu and Chen Fu as brothers in arms, and refuses to rush into trials before observing earlier attempts. As the expedition worsens, he asks for detailed intelligence, considers alliances, accepts responsibility for shared Deity-grade scrolls, and responds to ambush with a desire to eliminate Lord You Lan. Inside the vine worlds, a blade demonstration prompts him to deepen the True Meaning of Eight Dragons toward treating his body as a unified heaven and earth. (Chapters 286–335)

Years later, Xue Ying visits Chen Jiu with wine. Chen Jiu remembers recognizing the younger man's unusual comprehension during the expedition and expresses relief that such talent did not die there. The scene confirms his survival through Chapter 704, though the fragmentary intervening text does not preserve how he completed the trials or his later realm. (Chapters 336, 385, and 704)

Appearance and personality

Chen Jiu's body has eight arms. No reliable facial, clothing, or age description is supplied; the old men described beside him are Chen Gu and Chen Fu. He is patient, observant, candid about danger, loyal to his team, and capable of both killing intent toward an ambusher and sympathy for a fallen rival. (Chapters 304–321 and 333)

Abilities and cultivation

His True Meaning of Eight Dragons works through an eight-armed body, making him particularly effective against coordinated attackers. Chapter 329 shows a conceptual advance toward unifying the eight manifestations into one body-world, but the source does not preserve the completed mechanics, grade, costs, or a full finishing attack. (Chapters 329–333)

Chen Jiu also possesses extensive Deity World and military knowledge, including the Bloodshed God Palace's armies and body-refinement practices. This is learned expertise rather than a personal technique. His latest scene gives no confirmed breakthrough beyond the Crimson Rock expedition. (Chapters 311, 335, 385, and 704)

Relationships

  • Dong Bo Xue Ying: Brother in arms whose information, talent, and survival Chen Jiu values; they later meet socially as old comrades. (Chapters 304–336 and 704)
  • Lord You Lan: Rival whose ambush gives Chen Jiu a direct reason to seek his death. (Chapter 326)
  • Jian Huang: Fellow expedition leader who offers Deity-grade scrolls under Chen Jiu's decision-making. (Chapters 306 and 318)
  • Xi Wei: Senior figure whom Chen Jiu and Xue Ying greet during the expedition. (Chapter 326)

Items

No assigned personal item is established. Deity-grade scrolls are offered for Chen Jiu's tactical use, but the evidence does not identify them individually or confirm lasting ownership. (Chapter 318)
