Leymano's Travels

Leymano's Travels is a palm-sized notebook with a bronze-green cover inscribed in ancient Feysac, “I came, I saw, I record.” Its pages can record observed Beyonder powers for later one-time use, giving Fors and her allies a prepared library of abilities at the cost of reduced power and a dangerous tendency to become lost.

History

Dorian's gift

Dorian Gray Abraham gives the notebook to Fors as both a reward and a protective tool. He explains its three grades of paper, the recording odds, and the blood-based way to lessen its negative effect. Fors begins filling it with useful powers rather than treating it as a fixed spellbook. (Chapter 646)

Tarot Club lending

Fors lends the notebook to Klein for the operation against Mr. X. He records and deploys several powers, including Lightning Storm, before returning it. Fors subsequently lends it to other Tarot Club members for dangerous assignments, making the notebook a shared tactical resource while retaining ownership. (Chapters 772–781, 796, 803, 1010, and 1022)

Emlyn later uses its recorded historical summoning and Traveling powers, then smears blood on the cover to counter its disorientation. An enemy notebook used as bait in a separate operation is described as a copy and should not be confused with Fors's original. The original's latest shown loan does not end in destruction or permanent transfer. (Chapters 1197 and 1235–1237)

Abilities and properties

• By observing a Beyonder power, the holder can attempt to record it on a compatible blank page. A successfully stored power remains until used; activating it consumes the record and leaves the page blank again. (Chapter 646)
• Three yellow parchment pages can attempt demigod-level powers with a success rate below one in ten and roughly half the original strength. Ten goatskin pages record Sequence 5 or 6 powers with about a seventy-to-eighty-percent success rate, while twenty-five white pages record lower-Sequence powers at close to their original level. (Chapter 646)
• The item corresponds to a Sequence 6 Scribe and cannot reliably reproduce every witnessed phenomenon. Recording chance, page grade, user knowledge, and the original power's level constrain the result. (Chapter 646)
• After each use, the holder becomes prone to getting dangerously lost, even in familiar surroundings. Smearing the user's own blood on the bronze-green cover reduces this effect, but requires preparation and creates an obvious practical cost. (Chapters 646 and 1235–1237)
