Verdu

Verdu Abraham is an Abraham-family Astrologer whose obsession with returning Bethel Abraham, Mr. Door, makes him ignore Dorian's warning that a corrupted King of Angels could destroy their family. (Chapters 1298 and 1348)

Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Verdu rejected Dorian Gray Abraham's caution and studied scattered mysticism records for a way to return Mr. Door. Monitored by the Tarot Club, he sought further knowledge in Bayam, traveled to the ruins of Bansy, and used its telegraph office to contact the supposed God of War. (Chapters 1298, 1311, and 1325–1347)

The answering entity offered the three demigod sacrifices needed for Mr. Door's return in exchange for a contract marked with Verdu's blood. Verdu accepted, prepared the altar with the supplied Bizarro Sorcerer, Secrets Sorcerer, and Parasite monsters, and joyfully began the ritual; as the door opened, his eyes, features, and flesh fell away under stellar corruption, killing him as the return proceeded. (Chapters 1348–1349)

Appearance and personality

Verdu wears gold-rimmed glasses and studies with patient seriousness, marking symbols and notes as he reads. That diligence is undermined by desperation and credulity: fear repeatedly warns him during the Bansy journey, yet devotion to his ancestor lets him rationalize a bargain with an unknown power. (Chapters 1325–1339 and 1347–1349)

Pathways and abilities

As an Astrologer of the Apprentice pathway, Verdu has substantial mysticism and pathway knowledge but remains low in sequence. He uses Abraham-family ritual techniques and external Sealed Artifacts for effects such as Teleportation; he cannot personally supply or subdue the demigod sacrifices required to free Mr. Door. (Chapters 1325–1349)

Relationships

Dorian Gray Abraham opposes Verdu's plan and fears its consequences, while Bethel Abraham is the ancestor Verdu tries to rescue. Alger Wilson monitors Verdu for the Tarot Club but loses track of him after his Teleportation to the ritual site. (Chapters 1298, 1311, 1334–1336, and 1348–1352)

Items

Verdu carries an ornate Abraham-family robe that tightens dangerously near Bansy's anomalies and uses an unnamed Sealed Artifact to Teleport to Blue Mountain Island. Neither object is given an individual catalog name in the supplied corpus. (Chapters 1336–1339 and 1348)
