Saint Anthony Stevenson

Saint Anthony Stevenson is one of the Church of Evernight's thirteen archbishops and the head of its Backlund diocese, directing Nighthawks, Red Gloves, and clergy from Saint Samuel Cathedral. (Chapters 474, 480, and 846)

Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Anthony responded to the urgent crisis at Earl Hall's estate and personally led the Nighthawks into the ruined altar site. He subsequently coordinated sensitive cases, assigned Daly Simone for her Numinous Episcopate expertise, and directed Red Gloves operations from Backlund. (Chapters 474–480, 776, and 846)

He met Klein Moretti in the Dwayne Dantès identity, managed information about Gehrman Sparrow and the Death Consul, and gave Leonard Mitchell covert instructions during the hunt for high-level threats. In the wartime investigation he deployed a gigantic Spirit Body at significant personal strain, then assessed the contaminated high-level battle and its Hermit tarot card trace. (Chapters 864–980, 1088, and 1200–1202)

Appearance and personality

Anthony is an elderly clergyman who wears a black robe patterned in red. He is grave, controlled, and institutionally cautious, speaking sparingly while entrusting dangerous work to specialists and absorbing reports before reaching conclusions. (Chapters 864–865, 917, and 1189–1202)

Pathways and abilities

Anthony is a high-level Beyonder of the Church of Evernight. He can command a gigantic Spirit Body and recall it into himself, but doing so nearly made him fall and required a translucent spirit to support him; the corpus does not explicitly name his sequence in these appearances. (Chapter 1200)

Relationships

Leonard Mitchell serves under Anthony and receives covert assignments from him; Daly Simone is a specialist he assigns to relevant cases. Anthony also evaluates Klein Moretti's identities and connections without openly exposing everything he learns. (Chapters 776, 865, 917, 980, and 1088–1202)

Items

No individually named artifact is established as Anthony's personal possession; his major demonstrated supernatural resource is the Spirit Body he summons and internalizes. (Chapter 1200)
