Encounters Across Both Eras

Rozanne worked at Blackthorn Security Company, the public front for Tingen's Nighthawks. Although her father had died as a Nighthawk years earlier, she remained an ordinary civilian who handled visitors, paperwork, refreshments, and practical arrangements. Her chatter helped make the office feel domestic despite the dangers hidden beneath it, and she became one of Klein Moretti's first friendly colleagues. The Tingen catastrophe shattered that routine; Rozanne mourned Klein and the fallen team at their funeral (Chapters 17–165).

When Leonard Mitchell later returned after avenging Tingen, she initially met him with cold resentment born from grief and survivor's pain. She nevertheless told him to live well, choosing care over blame (Chapter 1013). More than a decade later, Rozanne was still recognizably lively but steadier and more mature, with a young daughter of her own. Explaining that a hero protects other people showed how she had turned the losses of her youth into a humane lesson rather than allowing them to become bitterness (Chapter 2466).

Appearance and personality

As a young clerk, Rozanne was a pretty brown-haired woman whose expressions and rapid conversation readily betrayed her mood. She was sociable, curious, easily frightened by supernatural stories, and fond of teasing complaints, yet reliably performed the unglamorous work that kept Blackthorn functioning. By her later appearance, she wore her brown hair in a high bun and a green dress that balanced youthfulness with maturity; motherhood had made her more composed without erasing her liveliness (Chapters 17–165, 2466).

Pathways and abilities

Rozanne is explicitly a civilian rather than a Beyonder. The corpus establishes clerical competence, familiarity with Church procedures, and firsthand awareness of official Beyonder work, but no potion, Sequence, supernatural ability, or combat training (Chapters 17–165, 1013).
