Royale Reideen is a quiet Sleepless Beyonder of the Tingen Nighthawks. She handles night duty, investigations, and Chanis Gate work and remains with the local team after the deaths that end Dunn Smith's command.

Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Royale is already an experienced Nighthawk when Klein joins the team. She warns him that ritual magic is dangerous and then includes him in the unit's ordinary rhythm of investigations, Chanis Gate shifts, training, meals, and card games. Her reserved manner does not prevent practical concern for a novice who is learning how easily occult work can become fatal. (Chapters 50, 78, 97, 101, 106, 126)

She continues taking police-support assignments and relief shifts, including Chanis Gate duty around the Madam Sharon operation. Because she is not present at Blackthorn during the final confrontation with Megose and Ince Zangwill, she survives the destruction of Dunn's team. Years later Leonard returns to Tingen and finds Royale and Seeka still serving under Frye, confirming that she remains alive and committed to the Nighthawks. (Chapters 155, 160, 202–211, 1013)

Appearance and personality

Royale has smooth raven-black hair, long slender eyebrows, large deep-blue eyes, and a characteristically cold expression. She is introverted and sparing with words, but attentive to professional risk and comfortable enough with her teammates to share their informal off-duty life. (Chapters 50, 97, 126)

Royale is a Sequence 9 Sleepless. She needs less sleep, remains effective through long night watches, and combines that stamina with official Nighthawk investigation, ritual, and firearms training. No later advancement or broader personal power set is established. (Chapters 42, 97, 155–160)

Relationships

Dunn Smith is Royale's original captain, while Frye, Seeka Tron, Kenley, Leonard, and Klein are her Tingen teammates. Her latest appearance places her in the reconstructed team under Frye rather than outside the Church after the disaster. (Chapters 42, 97, 1013)
