Grimm
Biography
Encounters Across Both Eras
Grimm was one of Roselle Gustav's Four Horsemen and sailed aboard the Black King during Roselle's early explorations. After visiting a nameless primitive island, Grimm began behaving strangely, died from the island's corruption, and was buried there. Roselle and Edwards later dreamed of him and returned, finding the deceased Grimm apparently alive among mutated creatures performing a ritual. The “new life” did not undo his death; it revealed the Great Mother's corruption and helped set Roselle on the chain of fate that led toward the moon (Chapters 59, 692–693, 1115–1116, 1301–1305, 1400).
In Klein's dream city more than a decade later, Grimm appeared as his historical self's dream manifestation and served as the Intis Group's security director. The Great Mother's influence made him recognize Lumian as a Child of God, warn him about Huang Tao, and facilitate plans centered on reproduction and Mushu Hospital. This manifestation had a job, family memories, and agency inside the dream, but it was not the historical man's bodily resurrection in reality. It remained active as the dream-city struggle approached its end (Chapters 2373–2421, 2468–2592).
Appearance and personality
The historical corpus provides little reliable physical detail for Grimm before his death. His dream manifestation is a medium-height, muscular man with black hair and blue eyes who wears light or thin blue suits and carries himself like a security professional. He is direct, physically confident, and loyal to the authority he recognizes; in the dream, that loyalty is bent toward motherhood, reproduction, and the Great Mother's hidden faction (Chapters 2373–2380).
Pathways and abilities
Grimm's historical potion pathway and Sequence are not established. In the dream city, all intruders and manifestations operate under the dream's suppression, and Grimm demonstrates formidable ordinary combat skill plus powers bestowed through the Great Mother's influence. The corpus associates him with accelerated reproduction and access across dream boundaries, but does not provide a secure conventional Sequence label. Those dream abilities should not be projected backward onto Roselle's living companion (Chapters 2373–2421, 2460–2476).
