Faustino

Faustino was Gardner Martin's butler and an official member of the Iron and Blood Cross Order. He preserved the manner of a discreet household servant even while admitting recruits, managing money and evidence, and facilitating his commander's secret meetings. (Chapters 1606, 1715–1717, and 1888)

Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

Faustino first received Lumian Lee and Baron Brignais at Gardner's villa, guided them through the house, and fetched payment for a Beyonder characteristic. His access to Gardner's finances, guests, and private rooms already placed him at the center of the household's covert operations. (Chapter 1606)

When Lumian joined the Iron and Blood Cross Order, Faustino welcomed him as a brother, introduced the other members, and explained the initiation ritual's martial symbolism. He continued to act as a butler throughout the gathering, making service and secret-society membership indistinguishable parts of his role. (Chapters 1715–1717)

Faustino later received Lumian's captured Werewolf and repeatedly escorted a concealed black-cloaked visitor to and from Gardner's study. He remained alive and active at the villa when Franca Roland surveilled that visitor. (Chapters 1727, 1804, and 1888)

Appearance and personality

Faustino was in his fifties, with slightly graying temples, sunken light-blue eyes, and the black suit and dark bow tie of a conventional butler. He was courteous, controlled, and exceptionally discreet, rarely displaying surprise even when confronted with the Order's violence and secrets. (Chapters 1606, 1715, and 1727)

Faustino was counted among the Iron and Blood Cross Order's Beyonders, but the corpus does not identify his pathway, Sequence, or any personal supernatural technique. Relationships

Gardner Martin was Faustino's employer, commander, and apparent source of authority within the Order. Faustino treated Lumian as a newly admitted brother while continuing to observe the hierarchy and guarded etiquette surrounding Gardner's operations. (Chapters 1606 and 1715–1717)
