Biography
Life in Klein's Era
Prince Edessak Augustus, George III's fifth son, enters Klein Moretti's investigation through his friendship with Talim Dumont. He hires Sherlock Moriarty to investigate Talim's death and matters surrounding Trissy, and he intends to help restore the fallen Dumont family title. His directness and generosity distinguish him from the more calculating political figures around the royal family, but also leave him ill prepared for the conspiracy using him. (Chapters 438, 452)
The relationship between Edessak and Trissy has been engineered through the royal family's Demoness plot and 0-08. When Trissy reveals that both of them are intended as sacrificial pawns, Edessak is initially shaken by her past transformation but affirms that he loves the person before him. He then chooses to release her through a secret passage and remain behind, refusing to save himself at her expense. (Chapter 474)
Edessak takes a revolver loaded with a spirit-destroying bullet and shoots himself in the temple. The official narrative presents his death as suicide after treasonous collusion, concealing the manipulation that drove the affair. His final independent act is therefore both an escape from the conspiracy's control and an attempt to give Trissy a chance to live. (Chapter 479)
Appearance and personality
Edessak is a young man with a rotund face, narrow blue eyes, and a lively smile. He appears in riding clothes and carries a horsewhip. He is warm, impulsive, romantic, and generous to friends, with less prejudice than Trissy expects when confronted with her past. Pathways and abilities
Edessak has no established pathway or supernatural abilities. His power is social and political, derived from royal birth, wealth, servants, and access to investigators. Those advantages cannot protect him from high-level manipulation by his own family and occult conspirators. [Chapter 438] [Chapter 474]
Relationships
George III is Edessak's father and the ruler whose hidden plan ultimately consumes him. Talim Dumont is his close friend, and Edessak intends to restore the Dumont family's status after Talim's death.
