Vanessa Korint

Vanessa Korint is Kugelblitz's foremost sniper and later its chief Zephyx Extractor. She helps defeat Anatomy, resists Nick and Aria Light during Crimson City's reforms, and eventually serves among the city's veteran Heroes. (Chapters 478–525, 707–729)

Biography

Victory, resistance, and city service

During Kugelblitz's assault on Anatomy, Vanessa stays concealed and forces Ariel into a sniper duel while directing Specialists elsewhere in the attack. Her pressure helps prevent Anatomy from freely using its strongest fighter and contributes to Kugelblitz's victory, after which Vanessa becomes the company's new chief Zephyx Extractor. When Nick and Aria later challenge Kugelblitz over stolen city blood, Vanessa summons her rifle and confronts Aria, but she does not fire: attacking the Governor would bring Aegis down on the company and destroy the institution she is trying to defend. The standoff leaves Kugelblitz under stricter limits as the city grows strong enough to enforce them. (Chapters 478, 486, and 508–525)

Decades later, Vanessa is one of Crimson City's established Heroes and helps receive a disguised Nick as an Aegis special Agent. She reacts with shock when he reveals that he has killed both the Parasite and the Corrosive Dust, then joins the city's other Heroes in yielding to his greater authority. At the regional stronghold she is also among the veteran Heroes whose instructions newer personnel follow. The corpus does not show her death, but Nick later names her among the people of that era who are all gone. (Chapters 707–729 and 956)

Appearance and personality

The corpus emphasizes Vanessa's concealed position and weapon rather than giving a detailed physical portrait. She is controlled, distant, and strongly protective of Kugelblitz's interests; even her hostility toward Aria stops short of an attack that would doom the company. Her later deference to an unknown special Agent likewise shows that pride does not prevent her from recognizing institutional power. (Chapters 486, 524–525, and 709)

Abilities and Zephyx

Vanessa is described as Kugelblitz's most powerful sniper and later reaches Initial Hero rank. A single full-power rifle shot consumes almost half her Zephyx, making each attack a major commitment; concealment and timing are consequently central to her duel with Ariel. As a Hero she can use long-range voice transmission, but the corpus does not identify her synchronized ability or explain how her rifle attacks are produced. (Chapters 478, 486, 525, and 708)
