Jornis Zealow is a massive club-wielding Hero of Kugelblitz who helps destroy Anatomy and later serves in Crimson City's senior defense. His physical aggression is balanced by loyalty to the institutions employing him, even when that loyalty places him against the city's reformers. (Chapters 478–525, 707–729)

Biography

Kugelblitz enforcer and veteran defender

Jornis enters the battle for Anatomy as one of Kugelblitz's decisive Heroes. Ariel's shot strips away roughly eighty percent of his Zephyx, but he continues attacking with an enlarged club and forces her to expend her remaining reserves, materially helping Kugelblitz win. He then guards Julian Winter's Containment Unit during the company's execution of its former chief, placing his strength behind Kugelblitz's internal settlement rather than challenging its leadership. (Chapters 478, 486, and 499)

When Nick's government demands an end to Kugelblitz taking city blood, Jornis defends the company's conduct and notes that it was paid in advance, while Aria's strength makes direct resistance untenable. He remains with the city's power structure rather than being cast out: decades later he receives a disguised Aegis Agent with the other Heroes and serves as a veteran leader at the regional stronghold. The corpus does not narrate his death, but Nick later remembers him among the deceased people of the previous era. (Chapters 525, 546–549, 707–729, and 956)

Appearance and personality

Jornis is a huge man with black hair, a deep voice, and a body compared to a golem. He is forceful and direct, meeting dangerous resistance with physical commitment even after losing most of his Zephyx. His defense of Kugelblitz's blood agreement also shows an institutional, transactional outlook, although later scenes present him as respectful toward superior Aegis authority. (Chapters 478, 486, 525, and 709)

Abilities and Zephyx

As a Hero, Jornis has the physical speed, durability, and Zephyx reserves appropriate to that rank. His demonstrated specialty is a gigantic club that can enlarge for crushing attacks; even with only about one fifth of his reserves remaining, he can keep Ariel under enough pressure to drain hers. Years later he has not yet mastered long-range voice transmission, showing that Hero-level rank does not automatically grant every advanced manipulation skill. The corpus does not name his synchronized ability. (Chapters 486 and 708)
