Monica is a sentient Specter who lives publicly as the only woman among the Riker Strikers. She serves as Riker’s bodyguard and enforcer while secretly feeding on valuable objects, earning the descriptive name Money Sink. (Chapters 221–239)

Biography

Envy’s Abandonment and Dark Dream

Monica’s place beside Riker depends on their service to Envy, but that arrangement collapses when Envy discards them. Rather than submit, Monica and Riker resist and use Nick as cover while Monica counters the draining effect threatening them, a choice that also preserves Nick’s life. After their capture, she negotiates from Dark Dream’s confinement and refuses escape because Envy still wants her dead. The crisis shifts her from a hidden gang enforcer to a contained survivor willing to explain her feeding requirements, while her later development remains unrecorded. (Chapters 221–230 and 235–239)

Appearance and personality

Monica appears as a beautiful young blonde woman with a comparatively slight build rather than the size or musculature her strength might suggest. She is protective of Riker, pragmatic under capture, and sufficiently aware of Envy’s danger to choose secure confinement over a nominal freedom that would expose her to immediate pursuit. Abilities and Zephyx

As an Early Adolescent, Monica is at least several times stronger than an adult man. Her defining ability turns objects with broad human value—credits, gems, weapons, or food—into dust as she absorbs their value through her hand. Merely sentimental value is insufficient, living people and pets are excluded, and repeated feeding on the same day gives diminishing returns. Her hand also absorbs surrounding Zephyx strongly enough to counter Envy’s drain during the confrontation. (Chapters 225, 230, 238, and 239)
