Lightning Flag

The Lightning Flag is a defensive treasure taken by Meng Hao from Patriarch Reliance's hoard. It creates an electrical mist, attacks intruders, and can draw in or store lightning.

History

Taken from Patriarch Reliance

Meng Hao pulls the flag into the Bag of the Cosmos while emptying Patriarch Reliance's treasure chamber. Patriarch Reliance describes it as able to withstand a Foundation Establishment attack and absorb lightning, including the lightning needed to nurture Thunder Rattan Leaves. (Chapter 85)

Foundation Establishment protection

Meng Hao develops greater control over the flag during the months after leaving the Reliance Sect. Its mist expands around him, fires lightning at approaching threats, and protects him while the Foundation Establishment Pill temporarily leaves him unable to move. He also condenses its electricity into an offensive Lightning Globe. (Chapters 92 and 96–101)

Lightning within the Black Sieve Sect

In the Black Sieve Sect's ancient region, Meng Hao uses the flag to draw surrounding lightning and deter his companions from acting against him. The flag absorbs fragments of the powerful lightning that strike him and shows signs of further change, but the corpus does not establish its fate after this period. (Chapters 159–162)

Abilities and properties

• It becomes a lightning-filled defensive mist that intercepts attacks and hostile effects. (Chapters 92, 98, and 110–111)
• It automatically discharges at creatures entering its protected area. (Chapter 96)
• Its stored electricity can be concentrated into a Lightning Globe. (Chapter 101)
• It attracts, absorbs, and is strengthened by lightning, including traces associated with tribulation. (Chapters 85 and 159–160)
