Yi Chenzi
Yi Chenzi is a fugitive cultivator who turns blood sacrifice against his own people and later preys on migrating Western Desert tribes.
Biography
Theft in the Realm of the Bridge Ruins
Yi Chenzi hides near a struggle over Celestial soil, waiting for the competitors to deadlock before striking. When Meng Hao opens a path, Yi Chenzi seizes half the soil and flees. Other cultivators recognize him as the traitor who slaughtered the Gryphon Tribe and sacrificed members of his own clan to advance his cultivation. His concealed ambush and immediate theft show the opportunism that has kept him alive despite that reputation. (Chapter 457)
Meng Hao pursues him through repeated minor teleportations. Yi Chenzi spends fish scales as shields and escape catalysts, uses a transformed draconic vulture to delay pursuit, and finally bursts five scales together to gain distance. A Bridge Ruins storm separates them before Meng Hao can finish the chase, leaving Yi Chenzi with the mistaken confidence that escape remains his reliable answer to stronger enemies. (Chapters 457–459)
Blood sacrifices and death
During the Western Desert apocalypse, Yi Chenzi targets weakened northern tribes. He slaughters thousands at a time to fuel a forbidden method, expecting that a few tens of thousands of sacrifices will carry him into the late Nascent Soul stage. He can also suppress Sacred Ancients, which lets him attack tribes whose protectors would otherwise threaten him. At the Crow Divinity group’s refuge he melts the Thorn Rampart with a black-moon technique and tries to tear away its ancient vine. (Chapters 474–476)
Meng Hao’s return reverses the raid. Frigid soil freezes Yi Chenzi’s green-smoke escape, and his Sense Slaying black moon fails against Meng Hao’s stronger Spiritual Sense. Meng Hao destroys his body; the Outlander Beast, parrot, and meat jelly then prevent the Nascent Soul from teleporting or self-detonating. The Outlander Beast swallows the remaining soul, so later uses of Yi Chenzi’s techniques and manual are posthumous rather than further appearances. (Chapter 477)
Appearance and personality
Yi Chenzi is a black-robed young man with an abnormally small, rat-like head and bloodthirsty eyes. He is calculating when hidden and boastful when attacking the weak, but panics quickly when his escape arts fail. His willingness to sacrifice clan and tribe members defines both his cultivation and his lack of lasting loyalties.
Abilities and cultivation
Blood-sacrifice cultivation
Yi Chenzi’s manual converts mass death into cultivation power. He uses repeated tribal massacres as fuel and estimates that tens of thousands more victims will produce a late Nascent Soul breakthrough. A related Blood Sacrifice Soulsearch extracts memories while leaving the target alive but permanently crippled. The method requires victims and preparation; it gives him growth and information but does not by itself let him overcome a much stronger cultivator. (Chapters 474–480)
Green-smoke escape and minor teleportation
He can dissolve into extremely fast green smoke and combine the movement with minor teleportation. This lets him repeatedly widen the gap from pursuers and makes conventional interception difficult. Meng Hao later copies the method from Yi Chenzi’s manual. Cold power from Frigid soil can freeze the smoke and disrupt teleportation, and spatial storms can redirect rather than obey the escape. (Chapters 457–459, 477–478)
Fish scales and Draconic Vulture Transformation
Glistening fish scales expand into defensive screens and can transform into enormous black-qi vultures. Yi Chenzi also detonates five scales together to multiply his escape speed. They are expendable defenses: Meng Hao’s Blood Immortal magic destroys the vulture form, and repeated use consumes the stock. (Chapters 457–458)
Black moon techniques
The black moon can melt and suppress the Thorn Rampart and can shield Yi Chenzi’s Nascent Soul. His Sense Slaying technique projects an inverted moon onto a target’s forehead and attacks Spiritual Sense directly. It is dangerous against comparable minds, but Meng Hao’s four-element totems and stronger Spiritual Sense disperse it almost immediately. (Chapters 476–477)
