Xiao Luo is an androgynous Paleo-Immortal Mausoleum Chosen whose tournament arsenal combines controlled corpses, concentrated Yin qi, hidden weapons, and sacrificial explosions.

Tournament reputation

Xiao Luo reaches the top eight of the Three Great Daoist Societies' arena tournament as a representative of one of the Five Great Holy Lands. Spectators know him for corpse cultivation and mock his intense fascination with the female corpse following Fan Dong'er. Behind that unsettling reputation is a disciplined combat system built to place multiple dead bodies between Xiao Luo and any attacker. (Chapter 874)

Collapse of the corpse formation

Against Meng Hao, Xiao opens nine upright coffins and activates the Nine Heavens Asura Squad. Thick death aura pours out as nine corpses attack together. When Meng Hao bypasses them and closes on their controller, Xiao successively raises Yin-qi walls, launches nine needle-like weapons, expels a defensive pearl, and creates explosive Yin pearls. The sequence shows the formation's intended structure: corpses apply external pressure while layered Yin defenses buy their controller room to direct the battlefield. (Chapter 875)

Meng Hao refuses that rhythm. He repeatedly penetrates the walls, breaks the pearl, and forces Xiao into uninterrupted defense. Xiao's Yin pearls can threaten even peak Dao Seeking experts, but their blast does not stop Meng Hao's advance. More decisively, Meng Hao severs Xiao's connection to the nine corpses and suppresses the Dao behind his magic. Xiao concedes and later admits that flight is the only sensible response to a future encounter. With his strongest corpses unavailable and his will to fight broken, he is easily eliminated from semifinal contention by Zhao Yifan. (Chapters 875–877)

Appearance and personality

Xiao is explicitly male but has a feminine bearing. Cold wind moves his hair and robes when he enters the arena, while cheerless eyes distort otherwise handsome features. His attraction to corpses appears sincere rather than theatrical and makes even experienced spectators uncomfortable.

He begins his match ruthless and confident, laughing as the Asura Squad attacks. That confidence is not mindless pride: after experiencing a technique that inhibits his Dao, he concedes rather than convert a defeat into death. His private resolution never to provoke Meng Hao again shows pragmatic self-preservation.

Abilities and cultivation

Nine Heavens Asura Squad

Nine ancient corpses emerge from separate coffins and attack as a coordinated unit under Xiao's direction. Their number lets them encircle or occupy a target while Xiao casts from safety. The system depends on an active controller-to-corpse connection; once Meng Hao severs that link, Xiao loses access to his strongest force and cannot meaningfully contest the next match.

Yin-qi barriers and needles

Xiao condenses Yin qi into walls that intercept direct charges. He can replace a broken wall quickly, but repeated heavy impacts collapse them. Nine black needles supplement the barriers with fast, viper-like projectiles, creating danger for an enemy who focuses only on the corpses.

Yin pearls

Xiao can spit out a luminous defensive pearl to absorb an otherwise decisive strike, although it shatters after buying only a moment. He also condenses numerous Yin-qi pearls and detonates them together. Each explosion is described as capable of killing a peak Dao Seeking expert, but this power has practical limits: the pearls require deployment, create a broad shockwave rather than guaranteed contact, and fail against an opponent who can survive or escape the blast.
