Wu Ali

Wu Ali is Wu Chen's bloodline rival within the Crow Scout Tribe and claimant to his inherited totem medallion.

Biography

Claim to the totem medallion

Wu Ali belongs to one of the Crow Scout Tribe's three great bloodlines and tries to claim the totem medallion inherited by Wu Chen. The arranged contest is officially a fair neo-demon duel, but Ali's position is strengthened by a Grand Elder of his own bloodline and a level-two Greenwood Bat personally raised by rank-five Dragoneer Mo Fang. This advantage leads him to treat the medallion as already his and the duel as a formality. (Chapters 399–400)

Two instant defeats

Wu Ali first directs his Greenwood Bat against a horned Greenwood Snake supplied to Wu Chen. The bat absorbs and kills the snake, confirming the audience's expectation that Ali is the generation's likely Chosen. When Wu Chen asks Meng Hao for help, however, Hairy Five accelerates beyond level-two limits and swallows the bat in a single breath. Because Wu Ali is branded to the neo-demon, its death injures him directly and destabilizes his cultivation. (Chapter 401–402)

Rather than concede, Ali demands another duel and summons a venomous black Greenwood Bat. Although nominally level two, the mutation gives it level-three pressure and speed. Hairy Four's howl stops it in mid-flight, after which one claw strike makes it explode. Ali backs away pale and mentally overwhelmed. His refusal to accept the first result therefore produces a second, even more decisive demonstration that his patronage and prepared beasts cannot match Meng Hao's Dragoneer skill. (Chapter 402)

After the duel

When Mo Fang descends to claim Meng Hao's Greenwood Wolves, Wu Ali bows deeply to his bloodline's powerful patron and stands under his protection. The dispute shifts above Ali's level, and he takes no further direct action in the shown confrontation. Despite the humiliation, he later appears among several dozen Crow Scout members selected for the tribe's expedition, nervous and excited beside Wu Chen and Wu Ling. The defeat damages his claim to superiority but does not remove him from the tribe's active generation. (Chapters 403 and 418)

Appearance and personality

Wu Ali is a young man; the supplied chapters do not provide a more sustained physical description. He is aggressive, entitled, and confident when protected by bloodline backing. The first unexpected loss makes him pale and injured, but pride drives him to demand an immediate rematch. Only the destruction of a second bat pushes him into stunned retreat. He remains properly deferential to Mo Fang and the tribe's senior authorities.

Abilities and cultivation

Wu Ali practices the Crow Scout Tribe's Greenwood-bloodline tradition and controls neo-demons through branding.

Greenwood Bat control

His first level-two Greenwood Bat is strong enough to kill a modified Greenwood Snake, absorb its essence, and respond precisely to Ali's will. Observers judge his control comparable to a Dragoneer's and regard the connection between cultivator and neo-demon as more important than simple totem type. Against Meng Hao's mutated wolf, however, the bat cannot react before being swallowed. (Chapter 401)

Bloodline brand

Ali's connection to the first bat transmits the consequences of its death back to him. His face loses all color and his cultivation becomes unstable until members of his bloodline intervene. The bond enables control but creates a serious feedback vulnerability when the neo-demon is killed abruptly. (Chapter 402)

Mutated venomous bat

Using a black skull that bursts into bone dust, Ali summons a black bat with green veins, red eyes, sharp teeth, and malevolent pressure resembling level three. It is a mutated level-two beast raised by Mo Fang and noted as venomous. Hairy Four's howl immobilizes it before it can demonstrate poison or an attack, and the wolf kills it in one strike. The scene establishes impressive potential but also complete susceptibility to a superior neo-demon hierarchy. (Chapter 402)
