Su Yi

Biography

Summoned by the Ninth Paragon

Su Yi is one of the two strongest cultivators in Ninth Paragon City after Meng Hao assumes control of the Vast Expanse School's Ninth Sect. When the school prepares its expedition into Patriarch Vast Expanse's necropolis, Meng Hao specifically orders that Su Yi and Xin Yue be summoned immediately. The choice identifies them as his senior field subordinates, above the city's Imperial Lords and ordinary disciples, even though his new position gives him little prior personal history with either woman. At the central teleportation formation, the other Paragons' arrangements initially exclude or repel the two eight-Essences followers. The force seizes body and soul in opposite directions, making both women feel as if they are being torn apart. Su Yi responds with anger and a roar, continuing to force herself forward despite coughing blood. For her, being thrown back before the Ninth Paragon is not only physical danger but public disgrace. Protecting Meng Hao's flank

Su Yi has previously seen Meng Hao defeat the Black Dragon and therefore accepts his abnormal battle power more readily than Xin Yue. When Meng Hao clashes with the Sixth Paragon, three eight-Essences experts under the Sixth move to interfere. Su Yi and Xin Yue immediately advance to intercept them. Their task is not to defeat a nine-Essences Paragon; it is to prevent peer subordinates from disrupting their commander's duel, preserving the hierarchy of the confrontation. (Chapter 1422)

Ghosts of the necropolis

Inside the necropolis, Su Yi is the first to notice Xin Yue responding to an unseen voice. The ghostly influence offers joy and familiarity rather than obvious pain, drawing Xin Yue toward surrender. Su Yi's alarm helps expose the attack, but the enormous ghost masses soon surround both women. Meng Hao's murderous aura clears them temporarily and he physically carries Su Yi and Xin Yue toward the Sect Leader's position. Su Yi survives the ghosts' acknowledgment of Meng Hao and remains through the expedition's encounter with the necropolis's deeper will and the Transcendence Daises.
