Sixth Generation Demon Sealer
The Sixth Generation Demon Sealer is an ancient, grievously damaged member of the League of Demon Sealers encountered in the Ruins of Immortality. At first he behaves like a mindless predator, but recovering the memory of his identity changes him into a warning of what may await every inheritor who fails the Mountain and Sea Tribulation.
Biography
The half-headed pursuer
The Sixth Generation first appears among the dead and corrupted beings surrounding the Ruins' Dao Tree. Half of his head is missing, a sword is embedded in his waist, and a banner in his hand can release black mist and form a huge vortex. The protective talisman carried by Meng Hao's escorts can halt him, but it does not destroy him. He instead lingers outside Meng Hao's arena throughout the trial, resisting pressures that make other ancient beings flee or bow and watching Meng Hao with growing hunger. (Chapters 865–880)
When Meng Hao is thrown out of the arena, the revenant seizes him and uses the Eighth Demon Sealing Hex to immobilize him. He begins draining Meng Hao's life force, cultivation base, and aura in order to restore his own ruined body. The attack also draws Devilish will out of Meng Hao, however, and that corrupting force burns the revenant badly enough for Meng Hao to resist. Meng Hao recognizes that the sword in the man's side contains the Sixth Hex, pulls it free, and escapes while black blood and snake-like creatures pour from the reopened wound. (Chapter 881)
Memory, warning, and departure
The injury shocks the revenant into asking who he is. When other creatures rush toward the blood-snakes, memory returns: he identifies himself as the Sixth Generation Demon Sealer and invokes the Life-Death Hex. Black and white qi combine into a gray vortex; the attackers decompose, receive gray magical symbols, lose their independent wills, and kneel before him. This is not simply destructive force. It places the targets' condition between life and death and makes them follow the Hex's user. (Chapters 881–882)
After recognizing Meng Hao as a later inheritor, the Sixth Generation does not resume the attack. He tells Meng Hao to consider whether the League should end so that the spirit of Pāramitā remains asleep or whether fate should proceed and preserve hope for the League. He then reveals that he was defeated in the third Mountain and Sea Tribulation. His mutilated state and journey toward a final resting place are therefore the consequences of failure, and he warns that defeated successors may one day join him on the same road. Before leaving, he repeats the League's ancient formula about the Nine Mountains and Seas returning to the Essence and describes Demon Sealers as both the strongest cultivators in the realm and those who bear its deepest grief. (Chapter 882)
Appearance and personality
He is a decomposing man with half of his head missing, one remaining eye, and a sword driven into his waist. Black blood and vicious snake-like things emerge from the wound when the sword is removed. His aura belongs more to death than life until Meng Hao's stolen vitality begins to restore him.
At first, shattered memory leaves him governed by instinct: he stalks Meng Hao, covets his vitality, and tries to consume it without explanation. Once his identity returns, his expression becomes kind and his conduct restrained. He allows the Ninth Generation to live, gives him a grave warning, and departs rather than making Meng Hao responsible for his condition. That change shows that his loyalty to the League survives even after his consciousness and body have nearly collapsed.
Abilities and cultivation
- Sixth Demon Sealing Hex — Life-Death Hexing: The Sixth Generation produces intertwined black and white qi, the opposing signs of death and life, and merges them into a gray vortex. The vortex exerts wide gravitational force, decomposes caught beings, marks them with gray symbols, and suppresses their individual consciousness until they worship and follow him. Even the powerful naga of the Ruins is subdued. The scene establishes control over a target's state and autonomy, not merely physical decay.
- Eighth Demon Sealing Hex: Despite being the Sixth Generation, he can use the Eighth Hex to lock Meng Hao's body completely. The source leaves unexplained how he learned it, but the application prevents movement while he drains Meng Hao.
- Vitality and cultivation absorption: Physical contact allows him to pull away life force, cultivation-base power, and aura. The stolen vitality begins repairing his missing flesh, but absorbing Meng Hao's residual Devilish will exposes him to the same burning corruption and interrupts the process.
- Black-mist banner: A wave of the banner releases mists filled with the cries of vengeful souls and can form a huge vortex. It is used while he acts as a hostile ruin-dweller, before his identity returns.
- Tribulation-scarred endurance: He survives ages in a mutilated state after losing the third Mountain and Sea Tribulation. Even powerful presences in the Ruins do not automatically force him away, though Devilish will frightens and harms him.
Relationships
- Meng Hao: Ninth-generation successor whom he first tries to consume. Recognition transforms that predatory encounter into instruction: he leaves Meng Hao the sword, explains the cost of failure, and asks him to consider the League's future.
- Eighth Generation Demon Sealer: Another predecessor whose recorded warning uses the same ancient words about the Mountain and Sea Tribulation. Their shared formula confirms that the trial is a recurring burden of the inheritance.
- League of Demon Sealers: The order remains the center of his identity. His warning presents its power, grief, and possible extinction as a choice Meng Hao will eventually have to confront.
Items
- Sixth Hex sword: The sword embedded in his side contains the Life-Death Hex and may have served as a seal upon his damaged body. After Meng Hao removes it, the blade protects him during his month-long escape through the Ruins by shining whenever danger approaches. Meng Hao can feel the Sixth Hex within it but cannot yet comprehend the technique.
- Black banner: An ancient weapon or focus used to summon black mist, a vortex, and the apparent voices of vengeful souls.
