Qian Duoduo

Qian Duoduo is an eccentric old cultivator whose attacks turn an opponent's own thoughts against them. His unlikely rise to the arena semifinals ends when that same art releases a will inside Meng Hao that Qian cannot control.

Biography

Dark-horse ascent

Qian Duoduo enters the Three Great Daoist Societies' recruitment tournament without the famous background of the established Chosen. His talkative, bizarre manner makes him easy to dismiss, but his results steadily overturn that impression. In a direct contest of divine will, he defeats Xie Yixian of the Burning Incense Stick Society. Both men are strained by the exchange, yet Qian remains standing and advances into the top four. (Chapter 874)

The placement battles demonstrate why ordinary cultivation comparisons do not predict his results. Three opponents suffer temporary insanity after his magic reaches their minds. Li Ling'er alone counters it effectively, and even her victory is narrow enough to be attributed partly to luck. Qian therefore wins three of four matches and approaches Meng Hao believing that one final victory can give him first place. (Chapters 876–877)

The semifinal and released Devil

Qian reveals abilities he withheld in earlier matches. He expands his emaciated body into a tall, muscular form, exchanges fast physical attacks with Meng Hao, and manifests a rotating sun and moon as a vortex. His decisive technique then declares Meng Hao “wicked” and draws out wicked thoughts so that fires of retribution can burn them away. The technique disrupts Meng Hao's transformation, showing that it can directly interfere with both mind and active magic. (Chapter 877)

The target, however, contains something beyond the wicked thoughts Qian expects. His art releases Meng Hao's suppressed Devilish will, whose murderous visions and black retribution flames overwhelm Qian's senses. Qian immediately understands that his own technique has created the danger, but cannot reverse it or defend himself. Meng Hao seizes him, drains and withers him, and reduces him to ash. Meng Hao later recognizes that Qian's intervention temporarily altered his emotions and personality so completely that he lost awareness of his surroundings. (Chapters 878 and 881)

Appearance and personality

Qian initially appears as an emaciated, talkative old man. His hidden body art adds two heads of height and dense muscle, replacing frailty with an explosive martial frame. He is eccentric but not frivolous about worthy opponents: after defeating Xie Yixian he returns the man's bow solemnly, and before facing Meng Hao he clearly states his ambition and intention to use everything he has.

His confidence has a hard limit. Once the Devilish will appears, technical curiosity becomes immediate regret and terror. That reaction is not cowardice so much as accurate recognition that his specialist art has contacted a force outside its intended operating range.

Abilities and cultivation

Divine-will derangement

Qian attacks consciousness rather than relying only on physical damage. Against ordinary opponents the intrusion produces temporary insanity, disrupting judgment and combat control. Li Ling'er's counter-techniques show that the effect is resistible and matchup-dependent rather than absolute.

Wicked-thought extraction

His signature declaration identifies and draws out wicked thoughts, then invokes black fires of retribution intended to consume them. It can break an active transformation by disturbing the mind that sustains it. The technique's critical limitation is that Qian does not necessarily understand everything he extracts: when it touches Meng Hao's deeper Devilish will, it releases rather than purifies it and gives Qian no demonstrated method of resealing the result.

Physical transformation and celestial vortex

Qian can inflate his thin body into a heavily muscled form, sharply increasing speed and striking power. In that state he leaves afterimages, trades punches and kicks at close range, and conjures images of the sun and moon whose rotation forms an attacking vortex. These arts broaden his offense, but neither lets him survive the backlash from his failed mental attack.
