Patriarch Darkheaven
Patriarch Darkheaven is the scholarly child-form patriarch commanding the Blood Demon Sect’s second mountain. He questions Meng Hao’s appointment as Blood Prince, loses most of his body when Meng Hao answers the challenge, and thereafter submits as one of the sect’s expedition leaders.
Biography
Opposition to the new Blood Prince
Darkheaven commands tens of thousands of disciples and seven Legacy Apprentices from Mount Darkheaven. When Meng Hao is appointed Blood Prince without a mountain or followers, he interprets the arrangement as a weakness to probe. He allows his apprentices to dismiss the newcomer and initially watches the Ironblood faction’s test with confidence. (Chapters 703–706)
Meng Hao’s aura suppresses the two Ironblood Patriarchs and transforms the political test into a public defeat. Darkheaven still speaks from his mountain to demand compensation, expecting Patriarch Blood Demon to impose sect rules before the new Blood Prince can answer. Meng Hao instead advances directly on Mount Darkheaven in retaliation for the treatment of Wang Youcai. (Chapters 707–708)
Darkheaven forms a blood-colored blade with power at the great circle of First Severing, almost touching Second Severing. Meng Hao’s finger attack destroys it; the next impact explodes more than half of Darkheaven’s body and forces out his Nascent Divinity. When the Blood Demon Grand Magic traps him with the Demonfire Patriarchs, the lack of flesh prevents the vortex from draining his qi and blood, but offers no protection from Meng Hao’s next decision. He submits and gives the required allegiance. (Chapters 708–710)
Service under Meng Hao
Darkheaven joins the mountain patriarchs who request permission to contest the erupting Ancient Dao Lakes. A teleportation trap catches him with Meng Hao and the others, and he uses a pause created by Meng Hao’s Ninth Mountain to escape the cycle. At the central lakes he helps the Blood Demon Sect contest territory, is wounded by the alliance of four hostile powers, and retreats rather than sacrificing the entire expedition before Meng Hao returns. (Chapters 711 and 714–715)
When Meng Hao later returns after the struggle over the True Immortal soul, Darkheaven flies down with the other patriarchs to greet and congratulate him. His loyalty is born through decisive coercion, but subsequent conduct follows sect command: he leads disciples, fights rival sects, and accepts Meng Hao’s authority as Blood Prince. (Chapter 732)
Appearance and personality
Darkheaven appears as a young boy in scholar’s garments despite being an old Spirit Severing patriarch. He is calculating while protected by distance and sect convention, then openly terrified when Meng Hao ignores those assumptions. He values face and hierarchy, but after defeat becomes pragmatic enough to submit and continue serving the Blood Demon Sect.
Abilities and cultivation
First Severing cultivation
Darkheaven’s cultivation stands at the great circle of the First Severing and approaches the threshold of the Second. This makes him a sect-scale patriarch able to lead tens of thousands, but Meng Hao’s stronger Second Severing battle power destroys his technique and body in two finger attacks.
Blood-colored blade
An incantation releases bloody light that condenses into a large blade carrying his full First Severing power. It is a direct cutting attack and his clearest personal technique. Against Meng Hao’s finger and Ninth Mountain-backed force, it shatters immediately.
Nascent Divinity survival
After his fleshly body explodes, Darkheaven’s Nascent Divinity escapes and remains capable of movement, speech, and later participation. Without flesh, the Qi and Blood stratum of the Blood Demon Grand Magic cannot drain him, but he remains vulnerable to soul or cultivation attacks and has not been shown rebuilding a body.
Spirit Severing leadership
He can lead Blood Demon disciples into the Ancient Dao Lakes, contend with other sect patriarchs, and exploit openings in teleportation formations. These feats depend on coordinated expedition strength; the hostile four-sect alliance still wounds and drives his group from a lake.
