Patriarch Blacksoul
Patriarch Blacksoul is the Three-Essences Dao Lord whose soul-harvesting legacy draws Meng Hao into a war with the Blacksoul Society.
Biography
Defense of Planet Blacksoul
Patriarch Blacksoul initially manifests through the Society's defenses as Meng Hao attacks the planet to recover the incense burner containing Chu Yuyan's soul. He deliberately allows subordinates and formations to test the intruder's hidden strength before entering personally. When forced to fight, he uses his three Essences and the planet's accumulated soul power without concern for disciples caught in the exchange. (Chapters 1215–1217)
His fire, earth, and wind combine into the Dao Lord Prison, surrounding Meng Hao with an environment of black flame, a massive Soil Golem, and crushing storms. The techniques are formidable, but Meng Hao's Paragon Bridge breaks the contest and tears away the incense burner. The wider attack collapses Planet Blacksoul and destroys the Society's foundation. Patriarch Blacksoul escapes with his soul badly dispersed and his cultivation unstable, later reconstructing or possessing a replacement body. (Chapters 1218–1220)
A bounty built from desperation
Having lost his sect, planet, treasure, and body, Blacksoul turns the Heavengod Alliance against Meng Hao. He offers a thousand years of his own service to whoever kills the Echelon cultivator, a reward valuable enough to sustain closed portals and an alliance-wide search. The offer shows both the residual value of a Dao Lord and how completely revenge has replaced institutional survival. (Chapters 1221–1222)
Final pursuit
Blacksoul recruits Xuan Daozi and Hong Chen by offering future service, then confronts Meng Hao near the opening 33 Hells in a new body. His soul aura, not his changed face, proves the identity. He attacks with countless souls and Essence power while the three Dao Lords exploit Meng Hao's injuries. (Chapters 1231–1232)
Meng Hao's Seal the Heavens Incantation invokes the will of the Mountain and Sea Realm. Blacksoul's body is shredded, but the fragments become black souls that try to carry him away—a survival method consistent with his soul cultivation. The Realm's giant destroys every fragment, killing body and spirit and leaving no soul to possess another host. (Chapter 1233)
Appearance and personality
His first stable body is that of an old patriarch, but possession gives him a different face later; his venomous soul aura remains recognizable. He is cautious while he can spend disciples as probes, ruthless toward collateral casualties, and obsessively vindictive after losing the Society.
Abilities and cultivation
Three Essences and Dao Lord Prison
Blacksoul's completed fire, earth, and wind Essences can operate separately or combine. Fire forms a black burning sea, earth raises a giant Soil Golem and controls the battlefield's substance, and wind supplies enclosing pressure and motion. Their fusion creates the Dao Lord Prison, a layered domain meant to deny an opponent safe movement while all three forces attack.
Soul control and body replacement
He commands countless accumulated souls as an attack and can disperse his own damaged body into soul-like fragments for escape. He also survives the first destruction by reforming or possessing new flesh. These methods depend on a surviving soul core; total spiritual extermination in Chapter 1233 counters them permanently.
Limits
His three Essences make him a Dao Lord, not an invulnerable sovereign. Paragon-level force can break his prison, and damage to his soul destabilizes his cultivation even after he gains another body.
