Paragon Xuan Fang — I Shall Seal the Heavens

Paragon Xuan Fang is a lion-headed Seven-Essences Paragon whose battlefield strategy causes the greatest structural damage of the early 33 Heavens invasion before Meng Hao and the Realm’s reserves defeat him.

Biography

Bait at the First Sea

Xuan Fang arrives after the First Heaven’s defeat and immediately studies the Realm rather than charging blindly. He recognizes Nine Seals’ plan in the remains of the barrier and uses his own presence as bait, reasoning that only a Paragon can force Sea Dream, Ksitigarbha, the Paragon puppet, and Meng Hao to expose their responses. He enters the First Sea voluntarily and turns the trap back toward the sun, where Meng Hao anchors a vital spell formation. (Chapters 1355–1357)

His true goal is the moon and the Realm’s shield, not revenge for Eegoo. Xuan Fang traces a sunlight arrow backward through Time to appear on the sun, uses Gloompearls and feints to occupy Meng Hao, and coordinates another Paragon’s attack on the moon. His quarter-hour engagement forces the defenders to burn life force and opens the way for descending Heavens to strike the shield. Even when Meng Hao’s incomplete Demon Sealing magic destroys many of his Time-souls, Xuan Fang continues pressing because strategic damage matters more to him than personal victory. Sealed, released, and commanding the landmasses

Meng Hao uses Gloompearl death aura, Form Displacement Transposition, and four Essences to seal Xuan Fang temporarily. The prison would take months to open, but the invading forces recover him sooner at a heavy cost. Once free, he directs successive Heavens as weapons, locks down the Realm’s strongest defenders, and shifts targets whenever a better opening appears. His calculations destroy Mountains, the sun’s outer shell, and enormous numbers of defenders even though they fail to produce a quick total victory. (Chapters 1363–1368)

Xuan Fang then sacrifices millions of Outsider souls to create a blade that severs Meng Hao’s control-thread to the Eegoo puppet. The maneuver appears decisive, but it awakens Choumen Tai’s soul fragment inside the puppet, which attacks and pins Xuan Fang down. The strategist’s willingness to spend his own army secures a temporary advantage while creating the exact supernatural counter he could not have predicted. (Chapters 1369–1371)

Defeat and final detonation

After Meng Hao kills Paragon Mythdragon and reconnects to the puppet, Xuan Fang admits that he underestimated Meng Hao twice: first by not ensuring his death, and then by misjudging the depth of the Realm’s reserves. He refuses surrender because he regards war as victory or defeat rather than right or wrong. He turns his remaining Heavens into descending blades, orders the surviving Outsiders to charge, and begins a full Paragon self-detonation. (Chapter 1372)

Xuan Fang directs the explosion rather than letting it spread randomly. His body, cultivation, and Essence become propulsion for the landmasses, driving them through the Realm with enough force to incinerate the Fifth Sea and kill uncounted cultivators. He dies in the blast, but succeeds in making his own defeat an unprecedented final wound to the Mountains and Seas. (Chapter 1373)

Appearance and personality

Xuan Fang has a lion-like head and lightning-bright eyes; his Paragon form and psyche can manifest as a golden lion. He is cold, analytical, and exceptionally willing to spend lives—including his own—for strategic effect. He enjoys schemes and prides himself on seeing several moves ahead, yet he can revise a plan immediately. His central weakness is the same confidence that makes him dangerous: he repeatedly assumes an unknown reserve can be reduced to a calculable trick.

Abilities and cultivation

Seven-Essences Paragon cultivation

Xuan Fang has Seven-Essences battle power, a Paragon fleshly body, and the strength to overpower Meng Hao in direct exchanges before Meng Hao burns Soul Lamps. He can grow to thirty thousand meters, become a golden lion, crush spell formations by pressure, and contend with Sea Dream or a Paragon puppet. Serious injuries and burned life force can reduce his effective battle power, but he remains a Paragon until death. (Chapters 1357–1373)

Essence of Time and Timeshift

Xuan Fang can trace an attack back to its origin and move his true body several breaths into the past, letting him follow sunlight from its arrow to the sun. The technique is extremely costly and cannot be repeated freely. He also stores soul-images from countless sixty-year cycles across tens of thousands of years; when faced with a killing magic, those temporal souls serve as layered survival anchors. This consummate defense can be used only once in his life, and Meng Hao’s incomplete sealing sphere still exterminates more than half of the stored souls. (Chapters 1357–1360)

Gloompearls

Black Gloompearls are driven into the sun as part of Xuan Fang’s plan and can be activated through a special technique. Their full function is intertwined with death aura and spatial control; Meng Hao later activates a captured pearl only because his body carries intense death. The pearls support Xuan Fang’s battlefield positioning but can be intercepted, shattered, or stolen through Form Displacement Transposition. (Chapters 1357–1363)

Golden lion psyche and formations

Xuan Fang can emit a golden lion formed from a sliver of psyche. He sends it around the Paragon Bridge to sever Meng Hao’s ownership connection, treating the artifact itself as a prize. He also creates golden formations whose symbols carry stellar power and throw the five elements into chaos. The Paragon Bridge breaks the formation, while a sunlight arrow shatters the exposed lion psyche. (Chapter 1358)

Augury and strategic command

He performs thousands of rapid augury calculations to identify outcomes and weaknesses, and his commands coordinate Imperial Lords, entire Heavens, and armies numbering in the millions. Augury correctly tells him Meng Hao’s sealing sphere leads to death, but incomplete information prevents him from predicting Choumen Tai’s response. Strategy magnifies his cultivation by turning troops, souls, and landmasses into weapons, but also makes his own side pay catastrophic costs. (Chapters 1360 and 1365–1373)

Soul blade and directed self-detonation

Millions of Outsider blood and souls form a blade that severs divine will, temporarily cutting Meng Hao off from the Paragon puppet. At death, Xuan Fang directs a complete Paragon self-detonation into propulsion rather than indiscriminate force. Both abilities consume lives permanently and are therefore terminal or near-terminal strategic measures, not sustainable combat techniques. (Chapters 1369 and 1372–1373)
