Night

Night is a colossal True Spirit whose body supports the Ancient Demon Immortal Sect and whose memories produce its ancient illusion. Sleeping Night is intelligent and preserves the Sect; awakened Night is a nearly mindless calamity bound by Lord Li's legacy rules.

Biography

The Sect inside Night's memory

After the ancient illusion ends, Zhixiang explains that True Spirits are unique beings numbering fewer than ten. Night became the Demon Immortal Sect's guardian and remained after its destruction because even Lord Ji would not or could not kill it. When Night closes its eyes, a world becomes dream; when it opens them, that world returns toward void. The Second Plane is therefore generated by Night's remembrance of the Sect's golden age. (Chapters 600–601)

The source leaves the dream's ontology deliberately uncertain. Demon Immortal disciples once argued that Night does not create a false illusion but transports participants through time. Meng Hao's actions leave traces and Night remembers him, so either interpretation produces real Karma and consequences. (Chapters 600–601)

Awakening over the continental mirror

Night's physical body lies beneath the Sect: its seven horns appear as mountain peaks, while the Fourth Plane rests above its colossal brain. Meng Hao's removal of Night's continental mirror and disturbance of the sealed Holy Lands provokes awakening. The land breaks apart, space fractures, and the movement of the entire surrounding world stops when Night roars. (Chapters 618–621)

Awakened Night pulls Meng Hao out of the departing river of stars with a single hand and nearly crushes him because it does not recognize his aura. Ke Jiusi intervenes, invoking Meng Hao's dream-life recognition by Ke Yunhai. Lord Li's standing order then constrains Night: the person who wakes it may return the mirror and let it sleep, or keep it and attempt Lord Li's legacy. Failure means remaining forever as a guest in Night's dream. Meng Hao takes the second option. (Chapter 621)

Legacy trial and return to sleep

Night's body becomes the terrain and judge for the following trial. Meng Hao traverses the required mountains and Holy Lands but does not complete the first legacy attempt. Night declares failure without killing him because he retains permanent qualifications to try again. Ke Jiusi seals the Sect, Night sinks its head, closes its eyes, and the seven horns become mountain peaks again as ruins, corpses, and restrictions return to their prior positions. During the Mountain and Sea War, Ke Jiusi manifests with an illusory Ancient Demon Immortal Sect behind him. Night opens its eyes within that projection and displaces one million Outsiders into an unseen era of the Sect, where battle immediately begins. This confirms that Night's temporal dream power remains combat-relevant far beyond the original expedition. (Chapter 1380)

Appearance and personality

Night's scale is geological. Its black, scaled arm has four fingers and a palm large enough to cover the sky; its head lies beneath mountain-sized horns, and its brain supports an entire plane. Its awakening begins with a cry like an infant and escalates into world-stopping speech.

Sleeping Night is described as intelligent and unwilling to awaken. Awakened Night “has no mind” and expects extermination of life, yet fragments of complexity remain: it recognizes Lord Li's commands, evaluates Meng Hao, and later aids Ke Jiusi's war manifestation.

Abilities and cultivation

Dream-world memory

Night can reconstruct the ancient Demon Immortal Sect with people, relationships, and events detailed enough to create lasting Karma. Participants may experience identity superposition with historical figures. The narrative presents temporal transport as a supported theory rather than settled fact, so the ability should not be reduced to ordinary illusion.

World-scale body and stasis

A roar halts movement in the world and void, while one hand pulls Meng Hao out of a stellar transport current. Closing the hand generates pressure capable of collapsing his body and organs. These feats depend only on awakening and physical scale, but awakened Night's lack of judgment makes them indiscriminate.

Temporal displacement

In Chapter 1380, Night makes one million Outsiders vanish from the present and reappear in an era no observer can see, inside the ancient Sect at war. This functions like battlefield removal through time rather than simple destruction. The exact duration or return conditions are not supplied.

Sect restoration and sealing

When returning to sleep, Night reverses the visible transformation of its body: horns become peaks and all ruins, corpses, and restrictive spells resume their recorded places. This preserves the Sect as a repeatable legacy environment. Ke Jiusi participates in ordering the seal, so the restoration is connected to their guardian relationship.

Lord Li's adjudication

Night holds the continental mirror and administers the two-option covenant for whoever awakens it. It can retain a failed challenger inside the dream, but Meng Hao's permanent qualification and Ke Jiusi's intervention define limits on immediate extermination.
