Li Yiming

Li Yiming is a World Pill Division master alchemist who accompanies Chen Jiaxi during the Black Sieve Sect alchemy gathering.

Biography

Arrival as a World Pill representative

Li Yiming arrives at the Black Sieve Sect with Chen Jiaxi as a scarlet-robed representative of the Golden Frost Sect's World Pill Division. The gathering is partly an alchemy exchange and partly a contest of institutional prestige. Li immediately taunts Zhou Dekun for failing to become a Violet Furnace Lord, treating the East Pill Division's apparent weakness as a chance for the World Pill Division to establish superiority before the assembled cultivators. He supports Chen's challenge and shares responsibility for the visiting division's lecture. (Chapters 246 and 249)

The alchemy debate

During the philosophical debate, Li stands beside Chen and initially shares his confidence. Meng Hao, appearing as Grandmaster Pill Cauldron, answers them by explaining plants and pills through cycles of life rather than rote properties. Li begins sweating and silently commits the rival's words to memory. His reaction separates him from Chen: both arrive proudly, but Li recognizes instruction inside defeat and tries to preserve it for later study. (Chapters 250–251)

The Dried Spring Equinox stem visibly flowers as Meng Hao speaks, turning abstract doctrine into an observable transformation. Li understands that the phenomenon exceeds a clever debate tactic and becomes frightened as Chen continues escalating the contest. He does not abandon his colleague, yet his growing alarm shows that he no longer believes the World Pill Division controls the exchange. (Chapters 251–252)

Chen Jiaxi's wager and collapse

Li watches Chen surrender more than a hundred pills as successive wagers are lost. The appearance of an ancient Primordial Heavenly Replenishing Pill raises the stakes from professional embarrassment to physical danger. When Chen consumes it and collapses under its effects, Li nearly loses consciousness himself; his concern for Chen overrides the rivalry that brought them to the gathering. (Chapters 253–254)

Meng Hao saves Chen and uses the incident to demonstrate the difference between possessing a pill and understanding how its vitality acts on a body. Li helps his aged and weakened companion stand, bows to the Black Sieve Sect leadership, and escorts him away. He leaves without winning the debate, but with Meng Hao's teachings memorized and the cost of Chen's pride made tangible. (Chapters 254–255)

Appearance and personality

Li is a tall, sturdy middle-aged man with an imposing manner and a scarlet World Pill Division robe. He is proud and initially hostile, using Zhou Dekun's stalled rank to belittle the East Pill Division. Unlike Chen Jiaxi, however, he does not let pride make him unable to learn. He memorizes Meng Hao's ideas even while they defeat his own side and recognizes danger before Chen does. His concern during Chen's collapse and willingness to escort him away show loyalty tempered by practical judgment. (Chapters 246–255)

Abilities and cultivation

World Pill Division alchemy

Li is a master alchemist trusted to represent the World Pill Division before a major Southern Domain sect. That position establishes professional knowledge of medicinal plants, pill formulas, and the principles used to combine them. He can participate in a public lecture and follow a high-level doctrinal contest rather than merely manufacture routine pills. The supplied chapters do not show him refining a named pill, so his exact furnace methods and success rates remain unstated. (Chapters 246 and 249–250)

Plant and pill appraisal

Li recognizes the significance of Meng Hao causing a Dried Spring Equinox stem to flower and understands why the Primordial Heavenly Replenishing Pill is extraordinary. His most revealing application is analytical: he follows Meng Hao's life-cycle argument closely enough to memorize it and realize that Chen is confronting someone whose understanding surpasses theirs. Appraisal does not let Li neutralize the ancient pill after Chen swallows it, demonstrating a boundary between recognizing a phenomenon and controlling it. (Chapters 250–254)

Cultivation

Li has Foundation Establishment cultivation sufficient to travel as a senior alchemist and maintain standing among powerful sect representatives. The corpus does not establish a precise stage or show a signature combat art. His narrative role is professional and intellectual, and the article does not assign him Chen's techniques or Meng Hao's later alchemical accomplishments. (Chapters 246–255)
