Jian Daozi

Jian Daozi is the ancient Cauldron Seeking leader who receives the Ninth Sea delegation in the Ninth Nation while covertly arranging temptations and conflicts against the visiting cultivators.

Biography

Receiving the "Grand Immortals"

Jian Daozi is the oldest of the Ninth Nation's assembled leaders when nine visitors arrive from the Mountain and Sea Realm. He presents himself as their servant and promises that the nation will satisfy any desire. When a Demonic cultivator tests that promise by asking whether the locals would kill themselves, Jian Daozi answers without hesitation, presenting absolute submission. The fervor is partly performance: his later thoughts reveal centuries of hatred toward Immortals who treat the Windswept Realm as a slave world. (Chapter 1086)

He offers separate residences on a map arranged to expose hierarchy and friction within the delegation. The most desirable mountain, rich in National Aura, becomes a point of confrontation, allowing Jian Daozi to identify Meng Hao's superior position and the hostility between ordinary and Demonic cultivators. He watches the tension with outward calm and inward derision. When hidden entrants trigger the realm's nine-person limit and a massacre follows, Meng Hao's ruthlessness forces him to reassess the visitor as far more dangerous than the others. Hospitality as a weapon

Jian Daozi organizes nine "Grand Carriages" made from formations of one thousand cultivators each, complete with attendants and luxuries meant to draw the visitors into indulgence. Meng Hao refuses the human ship and orders Jian Daozi to guide him directly. Along the road, Meng Hao uncovers a Demonic cultivator placed as one of the knives prepared against the delegation. He seizes Jian Daozi and tears off a finger as a warning. Jian Daozi suppresses his anger and accepts the punishment because open resistance would fail. (Chapters 1091–1092)

At the mountain, he expects Meng Hao either to fall into a trance or be caught in the world's approaching upheaval. His resentment has been sustained by a longevity secret and by memories of Immortal humiliation. Meng Hao's insight into natural laws and ability to unseal the mountain repeatedly overturn Jian Daozi's expectations, but the old man continues to hide his hatred beneath reverence. Later disturbances throughout the Ninth Nation and Meng Hao's suspicions connect his schemes to the broader native resistance, though the supplied scenes do not make him the sole architect of the realm-wide conflict. Appearance and personality

Jian Daozi is an extremely ancient man who appears to have lived for countless years. His eyes alternate between displayed passion and concealed wisdom, derision, hatred, or anxiety. He is patient enough to turn ceremonial submission into intelligence gathering and hospitality into a field of traps. He also knows when not to resist: even after losing a finger, he hides anger because Meng Hao's strength has made open defiance suicidal.

Jian Daozi has reached Cauldron Seeking, the ceiling imposed on native Windswept cultivators, and compensates for stalled cultivation with longevity, organization, and strategy.

Cauldron Seeking and longevity

His cultivation is not high by the standards of the visiting Immortals, and he is unable to make any further breakthrough. A secret magic has extended his life for so many years that he no longer remembers his age. That long memory gives him unusual experience with earlier visitors and fuels his resentment, but it does not let him resist Meng Hao physically or recover the severed finger in the shown scenes. Formation command

He can direct thousands of Ninth Nation cultivators in ceremonial and transport formations. At his order, nine groups of one thousand people form airborne ships. This is large-scale command and coordination rather than personal creation of a mechanical vessel, and its ostentatious comforts are designed as temptations for the guests. (Chapters 1086 and 1091)

Political manipulation

Jian Daozi reads rank from the visitors' reactions, places desirable resources where they provoke conflict, arranges pleasures that encourage complacency, and prepares hostile locals as hidden knives. The method relies on indirect pressure because his own realm is inferior. Meng Hao's vigilance is the counter: he detects the tests, refuses the carriage, identifies the ambush, and punishes Jian Daozi personally. (Chapters 1087–1093)
