Hong Chen

Hong Chen is a Dao Lord of the Church of the Dragon God who joins Xuan Daozi and Patriarch Blacksoul in pursuing Meng Hao into the 33 Hells.

Biography

Pursuit into the 33 Hells

Hong Chen arrives from Planet Eight Designs after Meng Hao has been weakened by the opening of the 33 Hells. She joins the other Dao Realm pursuers because the crisis offers a chance to seize him while escape appears impossible. When Meng Hao resists, she opens seven facial pustules and releases centipedes that form a Dragon God attack around her. (Chapters 1231–1232)

Meng Hao’s Seal the Heavens manifestation destroys the centipedes and their illusory Dragon God, knocking Hong Chen below Dao Lord strength. She nevertheless continues the pursuit into the 33 Hells rather than retreat with her cultivation damaged. There, Meng Hao’s Life-Death Hex turns ancient shades against his pursuers, and the hell’s mist blinds and wounds her. The Battle Weapon strikes before she can recover, killing her and ending the Church’s part in the hunt. (Chapters 1233–1235)

Appearance and personality

Hong Chen is an old woman whose face is covered with pustules. Seven of them conceal milky-white centipedes used in her signature formation. She is ruthless and tenacious: even after losing Dao Lord power, she follows Meng Hao into a hostile sealed realm. That determination becomes recklessness once the 33 Hells themselves begin answering Meng Hao’s Life-Death Hex.

Abilities and cultivation

Dao Lord cultivation

Hong Chen enters at the Dao Lord level and can pursue Meng Hao alongside Xuan Daozi and Patriarch Blacksoul. The giant created by Meng Hao’s Seal the Heavens power destroys her manifested Dragon God and forces her cultivation below that threshold. The loss is immediate and consequential; she has less ability to resist the shades and mist inside the 33 Hells. (Chapters 1231–1234)

Dragon God centipede formation

Seven milky-white centipedes emerge from pustules on her face and arrange themselves into a formation. Their combined power calls forth an enormous illusory Dragon God, giving Hong Chen an externalized large-scale attack rather than merely seven separate creatures. Meng Hao’s giant manifestation tears through both the insects and the totem, demonstrating that the formation can be broken by superior sealing force and that its destruction damages Hong Chen’s cultivation. Pursuit and endurance

Hong Chen can maintain a high-speed Dao Realm pursuit while injured. This physical and cultivation endurance gets her into the deepest phase of the chase, but it does not protect her senses from the 33 Hells’ mist or let her resist Life-Death-controlled shades indefinitely. (Chapters 1233–1235)
