Guyiding Tri-rain

Guyiding Tri-rain is the sentient being associated with the North Sea. She usually appears as a young girl aboard a small ferry with an old boatman. Her aid gives Meng Hao enlightenment, restores him after his battle with Ding Yan, and creates a lasting bond between them.

Biography

First crossing

Guyiding first appears as the ferryman’s young granddaughter, tending the oven and warming alcohol while Meng Hao crosses the North Sea. The old boatman’s words prompt Meng Hao’s enlightenment, and the lake supplies the spiritual energy that enables his breakthrough in (Chapter 44).

Saving Meng Hao

After Meng Hao sinks into the North Sea during his battle with Ding Yan, Guyiding manifests as a little girl aboard a sunken boat, surrounded by identical female forms. She asks Meng Hao to stay with her forever while the North Sea’s power restores his life, injuries, and cultivation in (Chapter 66).

Revealing her name

When Meng Hao returns to the North Sea, the familiar boat approaches with the old ferryman and young girl aboard. She identifies herself as Guyiding Tri-rain, asks him to keep the name secret, and helps serve warmed alcohol in (Chapter 89).

In (Chapter 90), she and the boatman react fearfully when Meng Hao recites a line concerning Demon Sealing. She tells him that the relevant Qi lies beneath his feet and warns him not to provoke it.

The State of Zhao’s departure

Guyiding appears from the North Sea mist with the ferry and pays respects to Patriarch Reliance. The Patriarch identifies her as rain that fell during the third month of the Yiding year in the ancient Gu calendar and eventually became a lake. She later winks at Meng Hao after he uses the Demon Sealing Jade in (Chapter 95).

Southern Domain War and Dao Seeking

Guyiding Tri-rain celebrates Meng Hao's return to Saint's Island, but Patriarch Reliance prevents her and the Boat Spirit from leaving to meet him. When Meng Hao's aura later disappears, she mourns beside the Boat Spirit and remembers his promise to help her become a sea. (Chapters 635–683)

Nine Seas and the Windswept Realm

Guyiding Tri-rain travels with Meng Hao on Patriarch Reliance and helps tend the injured Li Ling'er during the pursuit into the Ruins of Immortality. Meng Hao later renews his promise that, after achieving the Dao, he will help her become a true sea. (Chapter 1016)(Chapter 1022) and (Chapter 1069)

Meng Clan and the Mountain and Sea War

Guyiding Tri-rain returns around Patriarch Reliance and the Legacy Door, maintaining her long connection to Meng Hao's journey. She later appears as the Mountain and Sea conflict reaches the stage of world extermination. (Chapters 1304–1305, 1309 and 1340)

Vast Expanse and Transcendence

Guyiding greets Meng Hao after his Transcendent return and sees the fulfillment of a promise extending back to the State of Zhao. Meng Hao uses Righteous Bestowal to elevate the sentient North Sea into a true sea, formally granting her the title of the new Ninth Sea. (Chapter 1544) and (Chapter 1557)

Appearance and personality

Guyiding usually appears as a charming girl about eight or nine years old, with large eyes and an innocent smile. She is playful and secretive when introducing herself, but becomes frightened by subjects connected to Demon Sealing. Her actions toward Meng Hao are protective and affectionate.

Abilities and cultivation

Guyiding is not described through an ordinary cultivation stage. Her powers follow identity as sentient rain and lake rather than a human realm ladder.

Ancient rain becoming a lake

She originates as rain from a specific ancient calendrical moment and accumulates into the North Sea. This gives her environmental power within the lake, but she still seeks Meng Hao's help to become a true sea. (Chapters 89–95)

Spiritual-energy bestowal

The North Sea can supply energy that supports Meng Hao's enlightenment and breakthrough. The lake provides conditions and power; comprehension remains his own. (Chapter 44)

Restoration

Within her waters, Guyiding restores Meng Hao after Ding Yan's apparently fatal attack, repairing life, injury, and cultivation. The demonstrated rescue is tied to immersion in the North Sea rather than a limitless ranged healing art. (Chapter 66)

Avatar and ferry manifestation

She appears as a young girl with the Boat Spirit and can surround Meng Hao with repeated female forms beneath the water. These are expressions of the lake-being, not evidence of numerous independent sisters. (Chapters 44, 66 and 89–95)

Righteous Bestowal

Meng Hao's Transcendent authority finally elevates her to the new Ninth Sea. The promotion fulfills her potential but is bestowed externally after centuries of promise, distinguishing original lake power from the later station. (Chapter 1557)
