Fang Linhe is a Fang clansman who travels with Meng Hao and Fang Daohong through the ancestral land's illusory Immortal kingdom, Soul Lamp region, and Misty Heaven Vault.

Biography

Defeat in the ancestral land

Fang Linhe is one of the black-robed Fang Clan elders operating in the ancestral land when he attacks Meng Hao. By the time he confronts him, Fang Daohong has already been defeated and bound to Meng Hao. Daohong offers Linhe a route to survival: submit, allow his cultivation base to be beaten down, and accept the same restrictive magic. Linhe compares that offer with the terrifying abilities he has just witnessed and chooses life. Fang Daohong injures him until his cultivation falls to the level of a Spirit Realm cultivator, after which Meng Hao implants streams of black and white qi in his forehead. The resulting symbol binds his life to Meng Hao. (Chapter 958)

From captive to follower

Linhe follows Meng Hao and Fang Daohong through regions the clan regards as effectively impassable. He is astonished by Meng Hao's control of the Dao Guardsman and by the bronze lamp that opens a path through the Misty Heaven Vault. When Meng Hao proceeds toward the first-generation patriarch's necropolis, Linhe strikes himself to verify that he is not dreaming, then feels grateful that his earlier attack did not get him killed. He and Daohong reinterpret their bondage as a possible opportunity: if Meng Hao inherits the One Thought Stellar Transformation, attachment to his rise could transform their own prospects. They therefore remain outside as Dharma Protectors rather than seeking escape. (Chapters 959–960)

The pair wait while the ancestral land fills with mist. A force eventually ejects them through the exit before Meng Hao, but they refuse to join the surrounding clan conflict and sit silently beside the vortex. When Meng Hao later manifests a thirty-thousand-meter Dharma Idol, Linhe's gamble appears vindicated. He and Daohong openly rejoice that becoming Meng Hao's followers may be an extraordinary stroke of fortune. His allegiance has developed from coerced survival into chosen investment in Meng Hao's future. (Chapters 964–966 and 969)

Appearance and personality
