Fang Donghan is a powerful Fang Clan Chosen who competes at the Immortal Ancient temple. The final clan upheaval reveals that this identity conceals Fang Daozi, eldest son of the first-generation Patriarch and architect of the ancient betrayal.

Biography

A Chosen who cultivates in danger

Fang Donghan first appears in the mountains surrounding the Immortal Ancient Daoist Rite Temple. Bare-chested and accompanied by two women whose bodies contain Wind Spirits, he tears apart the Dharma Idol of a golden ape and drinks the beast's blood. The scene establishes both his brutal fleshly-body training and his confidence that the temple's legacy medallion will belong to him. He is counted with Fang Wei and Fang Yunyi among the clan's three greatest Chosen, yet deliberately refuses to advance into the Immortal Realm. Like the other strongest competitors, he wants to accumulate a foundation capable of producing a more powerful true-Immortal breakthrough rather than accept an easier ascension. (Chapters 806, 809)

The overlooked observer

During the temple struggle, Fang Donghan recognizes the Heaven Severing Sword and privately connects Fang Hao with Meng Hao. His reputation is paradoxical: he is strong enough that, without Fang Wei, he might have become the Fang Clan's blazing sun, but his habit of remaining at the edge of events makes others overlook him. That apparent restraint continues after Meng Hao returns to Planet East Victory. Fang Donghan belongs to a politically neutral bloodline and waits to see whether Meng Hao and Fang Wei will destroy one another, reasoning that their mutual defeat could allow him to rise. He therefore avoids a premature fight with Meng Hao and conceals the scale of his ambitions behind detached observation. (Chapters 822, 826, 921)

Fang Daozi revealed

The clan rebellion exposes that the forgettable Chosen is a constructed identity. Fang Donghan's gaze drags Meng Hao into a blood-colored inner world, where chains bind him and an unnatural sleep begins to overwhelm his consciousness. Meng Hao escapes only when the Nirvana Fruit within him reacts. Fang Donghan then wounds the Pill Elder and forces Fang Yanxu, a Dao Realm expert, backward with a wave of his hand—power far beyond that of the young cultivator he had pretended to be. His body changes into that of a middle-aged man, and he announces himself as Fang Daozi, eldest son of the first-generation Patriarch. (Chapter 1001)

Fang Daozi had been the earliest great traitor of the Fang Clan. He cooperated with the Ji Clan, and his father destroyed his original body but permitted his soul to enter reincarnation. Across repeated lives, Fang Daozi continued cultivating. Ji Tian's Karma eventually restored his ancient memories, allowing the soul inside Fang Donghan to resume its conspiracy. He reveals himself earlier than planned after Fang Heshan triggers the uprising and because Meng Hao's absorption of a Nirvana Fruit convinces him that the first Patriarch must truly be dead. That conclusion proves disastrous: the first Patriarch's surviving will nullifies Fang Daozi's attacks and reveals that Lord Ji had planted Karma on him from birth. Learning that his rebellion was manipulated—and that his father's final planetary will did not pursue or plead with him—leaves Fang Daozi bitter and emotionally defeated. The planet's killing intent permits him to depart, and he remains alive when the confrontation ends. (Chapters 1002–1004)

Appearance and personality

As Fang Donghan, he is bare-chested, physically imposing, and savage enough to consume the blood of a beast he has just killed. That outward ferocity masks extraordinary patience. He allows the clan to underestimate and even forget him while he evaluates rivals and waits for the most advantageous moment. As Fang Daozi, his composure gives way to ancient pride, resentment, and fear of his father. He claims to have severed that fear as an inner Devil, but his decisions remain shaped by the need to prove that he has escaped the first Patriarch's shadow. Abilities and cultivation

Suppressed Immortal foundation and fleshly body

Before revealing his identity, Fang Donghan possesses one of the strongest foundations among the Fang juniors. He can physically destroy a golden ape's Dharma Idol and cultivates through violent encounters with dangerous beasts. His refusal to enter the Immortal Realm is deliberate: he suppresses the breakthrough so that his eventual true-Immortal foundation will be stronger. This public cultivation is real, but it is only the outermost layer of the Dao Realm power carried by Fang Daozi's reincarnated soul. (Chapters 806, 809)

Overlooked existence and blood-world binding

Fang Donghan's most effective concealment is supernatural rather than merely social. Even people looking directly at him can lose awareness of his presence, permitting him to remain inside crucial events without becoming their focus. When he attacks Meng Hao, a glance projects or pulls Meng Hao's consciousness into a blood-colored world. Red chains immobilize the target while a sleep effect suppresses resistance. The technique is not absolute: the Nirvana Fruit linked to the Fang bloodline breaks Meng Hao free, showing that a sufficiently powerful bloodline inheritance can disrupt the binding. (Chapter 1001)

Dao Realm Essences

As Fang Daozi, he wields at least three Essences. His vegetation Essence draws on plants and their life force; his lightning Essence manifests destructive electrical power; and his reincarnation or death-related Essence expresses the long cycle through which his soul has survived. Used together, these are Dao Realm attacks capable of overwhelming senior clan experts. They nevertheless fail against the first-generation Patriarch, who extinguishes all three expressions with a single finger. The encounter demonstrates the difference between possessing multiple Essences and having the comprehension and authority of the clan's founder. (Chapters 1001–1002)

Reincarnation, Karma, and bloodline authority

After his original body is destroyed, Fang Daozi's soul repeatedly reincarnates and continues its cultivation from life to life. Ji Tian's Karma acts as the bridge that awakens the buried identity and memories inside Fang Donghan. This offers immense continuity, but also creates a fundamental vulnerability: the same Karma that restores him is evidence that Lord Ji has influenced him since birth. As the founder's eldest son, Fang Daozi can also command frightening authority over the Fang bloodline. A spoken order silences the clan's Dao bell, and a wave of his hand causes the blood of loyal descendants to burn. His father, however, possesses a prior and deeper claim over that bloodline and can suppress Fang Daozi's authority completely. (Chapters 1002–1004)
