Elder Hai Sheng

Elder Hai Sheng is an Ancient Realm Sea Dragon elder who becomes one of Meng Hao's first major enemies inside the Nine Seas God World.

Biography

First clash in the Nine Seas God World

Elder Hai Sheng confronts Meng Hao soon after his arrival at the Nine Seas God World. The Demonic Horde greets the elder with renewed confidence, and he approaches with killing intent rooted in the death of his only descendant on Planet South Heaven. He covertly attacks twice, but Meng Hao blocks him and loudly frames the exchange as an Ancient Realm senior bullying a junior. The public attention prevents Hai Sheng from escalating openly. When Ling Yunzi arrives, even Hai Sheng bows, and the immediate confrontation ends without satisfying his hatred. (Chapters 1038–1039)

The sealed death trap

After the Seajacket Island assassination fails, Hai Sheng intercepts Meng Hao inside four walls of seawater. The cage can open only after a death, prevents outsiders from observing, changes natural law to disable Meng Hao's teleportation cauldron, and threatens backlash against anyone who forces an exit. Hai Sheng explains that the Horde patriarchs are delaying Meng Hao's protectors, then reveals the personal motive behind his cruelty: Meng Hao killed the descendant in whom he had invested his bloodline and hopes of true Immortality. His personally cultivated Dharma Dragon attacks first, but Meng Hao destroys it with the Nine Heavens Destruction. (Chapter 1066)

Hai Sheng activates a prepared jade slip whose black spectral face fuses over his own. The enhancement raises him from five extinguished Soul Lamps to the equivalent of nine, giving him overwhelming speed and the power to borrow from the Ninth Sea. He initially dominates the exchange, yet Meng Hao keeps forcing him downward toward the Divine Flame and counters the black-heart manifestation with eleven possessing blackpod imps. The instability of the borrowed face makes Hai Sheng's cultivation fluctuate, and flames begin consuming him internally. (Chapters 1067–1068)

Sea Dragon flight and death

Hai Sheng returns to his three-hundred-meter true Sea Dragon form, expels the imps, and clashes with Meng Hao's Self-Immolation Fist. Terror finally overcomes pride. He breaks his own death trap despite the backlash, uses the Soul Jade to survive, and dives into the Ninth Sea calling it his mother. The sea restores its native child, but Meng Hao's threat briefly stops that support. When healing resumes, Hai Sheng boasts that the Echelon cannot touch him and threatens Meng Hao's friends, revealing knowledge of Chu Yuyan's poison. (Chapters 1068–1069)

Meng Hao switches positions with him into a formation of 123 Blood Demon heads and impales his skull with the World Tree spear. Even the Ninth Sea's nourishment cannot outpace the damage and life-force absorption. Meng Hao Soulsearches part of his memories, then the Blood Demon Grand Magic reduces his body to ash and transfers most of the stolen vitality to Chu Yuyan. Hai Sheng's attempt to weaponize his origin in the sea therefore becomes the event that turns Meng Hao irreconcilably against the Ninth Sea itself. (Chapter 1069)

Appearance and personality

In human form he is a black-robed old man; after the borrowed-face enhancement, blue veins rise on his forehead and a second face overlaps his own. His true form is a huge pitch-black Sea Dragon with horns and a forehead scale that spreads over his body. Hai Sheng is proud, vindictive, and sadistic, wanting not merely to kill Meng Hao but to see him despair first. He prepares extensively and fights aggressively, yet repeatedly interprets home-ground advantages as guarantees. Once those guarantees fail, he becomes frightened, abandons the trap's rules, and begs the Ninth Sea for rescue.

Abilities and cultivation

Hai Sheng is naturally an Ancient Realm Demonic cultivator with five extinguished Soul Lamps. Prepared aids temporarily raise his battle power much higher.

Borrowed-face enhancement

Breaking a jade slip releases a black old-man's head that fuses with Hai Sheng and creates a second face. The fusion raises him to the equivalent of nine extinguished Soul Lamps, grants extreme speed, and lets his hand gather natural law and Ninth Sea power. The enhancement is not stable: possessing blackpod imps attack the foreign face and make his realm alternate between nine and five lamps. (Chapters 1067–1068)

Ninth Sea Daoist magics

Hai Sheng manifests an illusory sea and sea turtle, sends out a Soul Lamp, and creates a shrieking Ghost Face. His strangest attack surrounds the field in black mist and replaces him with a gigantic black heart; every beat applies mountain-like pressure and invisible stabbing pain to the target's heart, cultivation, and body. The blackpod imps possess and shatter the heart, demonstrating a counter through attacks that invade the manifestation itself. (Chapters 1067–1068)

Sea Dragon true form and affinity

His true body is a three-hundred-meter Sea Dragon with armored scales, immense jaws, and the power to eject possessing creatures as it expands. Born and raised in the Ninth Sea, he can call upon its nourishing force to restore otherwise fatal wounds. That support is discretionary rather than absolute: the sea pauses under Meng Hao's threat, resumes later, and still cannot save Hai Sheng from simultaneous impalement and life-force drain. (Chapters 1068–1069)

Soul Jade and death-trap preparation

The Soul Jade produces black mist that absorbs much of the backlash when Hai Sheng smashes through his own water cage. The cage itself seals four directions, hides events, alters natural law, and opens normally only after a death. These are prepared assets rather than innate body techniques, and forcing the enclosure still leaves him nearly torn apart. (Chapters 1066 and 1068)
