Eccentric Wang
Eccentric Wang is a Nascent Soul expert who joins Mo Li's expedition into the Crow Divinity lands and dies trying to seize its legacy.
Biography
Concealed expedition
Eccentric Wang enters the Crow Divinity gathering in a disguised vassal identity. Beneath that appearance he is a tall, stalwart middle-aged expert with a savage bearing, paired with the similarly concealed Mo Li. Their disguises let two senior outsiders move among weaker tribal cultivators while they investigate the restricted volcanic region. (Chapters 419–420)
A later karmic disturbance severs or disrupts connections between members of the expedition and Meng Hao. This event affects Wang, but the cause is external Ji Clan influence; it is not evidence that Wang notices or controls Karma himself. He and Mo eventually abandon concealment, kill obstacles, and use their experience with restrictive spells to penetrate the volcano's defenses. (Chapters 424 and 428)
Greed at the legacy
Inside, Wang and Mo agree to divide the gains. The appearance of the Golden Crow and the value of the legacy turn cooperation into opportunistic violence. Wang joins the attack on Meng Hao despite repeated demonstrations that the inheritance and the local neo-demons favor him. Injury does not deter the two older cultivators, who recover enough to renew their pressure and try to escape when the balance turns. (Chapters 430–431)
The Golden Life Tattoo's Net of Heaven catches Eccentric Wang during that attempted withdrawal. It destroys both his body and Nascent Soul, preventing the second life or escape that a Nascent Soul cultivator might otherwise attempt. (Chapter 432)
Appearance and personality
His true appearance is that of a tall, strongly built middle-aged man with a fierce air. He is calculating enough to use a disguise and cooperate with Mo Li, but greed overrides that caution once the Golden Crow legacy is within reach. His retreat comes only after direct force makes victory impossible.
Abilities and cultivation
Nascent Soul cultivation
Wang operates at the Nascent Soul stage, far above the ordinary tribal participants. This gives him powerful divine abilities, flight, survival after serious injury, and a Nascent Soul that could potentially escape bodily destruction. The Net of Heaven counters that final advantage by destroying body and soul together.
Restrictive-spell expertise
Working with Mo Li, he analyzes and breaks layered restrictions around the volcanic inheritance. This is practical formation-breaking expertise rather than unlimited control: it takes cooperation and preparation, and gaining entry does not grant ownership of the legacy.
Barrier, combat, and escape
The pair can erect defensive magical protection, launch senior-level attacks, and use escape magic when defeated. The source does not isolate every shared technique by caster, so jointly performed feats are not assigned to Wang alone without qualification.
