Dongluo Clan Third Elder

The Dongluo Clan Third Elder is one of three Nascent Soul elders sent to force Meng Hao and the Church of the Golden Light into serving the Dongluo Clan.

Biography

Ultimatum to the Church of the Golden Light

The Third Elder joins the Dongluo delegation that approaches the Church of the Golden Light from a position of contempt. The elders regard its rogue cultivators and Core Formation founder as unworthy of an alliance: in their view, the Church must either submit as an auxiliary or be enslaved. That assumption puts the Third Elder among the forces sent out when the Church refuses to accept Dongluo authority. (Chapters 346–348)

Their confidence fails inside Meng Hao’s fog formation. The delegation loses contact with the city, cannot locate its opponent reliably, and becomes trapped among Qi manifestations that look exactly like Meng Hao. When the elders attempt to turn a seemingly respectful exchange into coordinated escape and attack, the Third Elder does not flee. He forms an enormous hand, reaches into the mist, and crushes the Meng Hao he catches—only for the body to dissolve into Qi. He repeats the challenge directly, demanding a one-on-one fight, while his Nascent Soul cultivation surges in frustration. Meng Hao simply refuses to abandon the formation advantage. (Chapter 350)

Forced submission and release

With every direct option defeated, the three elders are required to make themselves safe enough to release. First and Second Elder injure themselves, and the Third Elder follows after glaring venomously at Meng Hao. He strikes his own body until he coughs blood and his cultivation base sinks. The act preserves his life and permits the delegation to leave, but it reverses the original power relationship completely: an envoy who came to demand submission must weaken himself before the supposedly inferior Church will trust him to depart. Appearance and personality

The Third Elder’s sustained physical appearance is not described. His conduct is much clearer. He is proud of clan status, shares the elders’ disdain for rogue cultivators, and reacts to humiliation with direct violence. Unlike companions who try to escape, he attacks the formation, which shows courage as well as poor tactical restraint. His final self-injury is reluctant and furious, but also pragmatic enough to accept survival after his authority has collapsed.

Nascent Soul cultivation

The Third Elder possesses a Nascent Soul cultivation base and can release its pressure openly when challenging Meng Hao. This places him far above the ordinary members of the Church of the Golden Light, which explains the delegation’s initial certainty. The encounter also demonstrates the limit of raw realm advantage: a prepared formation and numerous indistinguishable Qi bodies prevent him from bringing that power against the real target.

Enormous hand technique

His clearest offensive divine ability forms a huge hand behind him. The hand can plunge into the fog, seize a human-sized target, and crush it in a single motion. It destroys one of Meng Hao’s Qi bodies, but the result supplies no information about where Meng Hao himself is located. The technique is forceful rather than discriminating, making it poorly suited to the layered deception of the Church’s defenses.

Deliberate cultivation suppression

The elder can injure himself in a controlled way that causes his cultivation base to sink. This is not presented as an attack or ordinary training method; it is a security concession demanded before release. Its use shows both sufficient control to weaken himself without dying and the depth of the delegation’s defeat.
