Di Ye
Di Ye is a physically formidable Desolate Clan Chosen who contests the Ancient Dao Lakes and is nearly killed by Meng Hao.
Biography
Claiming the black claw
Di Ye arrives from the Northern Reaches dressed in animal skins and eating raw Outlander Beast flesh. When the master Dao Lake erupts, he uses a distance-crossing step to reach the treasures and claims a three-hundred-meter black claw. His wolf-tooth club and hulking body let him smash through the surrounding pressure, but Meng Hao reaches the same prize and knocks the weapon back with one punch. (Chapters 720–721)
The dispute becomes personal when Meng Hao produces debt slips belonging to Northern cultivators, including Di Ye's younger brother Di Luo. Humiliated, Di Ye attacks directly. Meng Hao traps him in the Blood Demon Grand Magic, draining flesh, qi, and blood; a Dao Seeking talisman opens the vortex only briefly, and Meng Hao's Wither command begins consuming cultivation and life force as well. Lu Bai's Time magic reverses the effect long enough to save him, leaving Di Ye half-withered and terrified. (Chapter 722)
Survival after defeat
Di Ye remains at the lake but is too weakened to compete on equal terms during the next eruption. He watches stronger rivals contend for the True Immortal soul and altar entrance, his earlier boast replaced by caution. His survival depends on accepting Lu Bai's protection and no longer challenging Meng Hao alone. (Chapters 723–725)
Appearance and personality
Di Ye is a gigantic, barbaric-looking man in animal hides, often shown eating raw beast meat and carrying a massive spiked club. He is boastful, territorial, and eager for direct combat, yet alert enough to fear Meng Hao after experiencing power he cannot resist.
Abilities and cultivation
Peak Spirit Severing body and strength
His peak Spirit Severing cultivation is expressed through exceptional physical force. The wolf-tooth club shatters the environment around him, and his charge can contest other leading Chosen. Meng Hao's superior body nevertheless knocks him backward and turns that confidence into a liability at close range.
Distance-crossing movement
Di Ye can compress or cross intervening space in a single step during the treasure rush. The technique gives rapid access to an objective but does not protect him once a faster opponent arrives.
Defensive talisman
A crystalline talisman releases Dao Seeking power when crushed. It can disrupt the Blood Demon vortex and create an escape opening, but it is consumable and cannot stop Meng Hao's follow-up Wither magic.
