Vladimir Noxus

Vladimir Noxus is the vampire Castellan who preserves the Noxus ancestral home beneath the sea until a new Patriarch returns. Better known to Wolfe as Vlad, he bridges the Family’s lost civilization and its restored royal line through archive stewardship, progression research, historical recordkeeping, and practical knowledge of Magi children.

Biography

Castellan of the sunken Noxus palace

Vladimir receives Wolfe inside the preserved Noxus home and identifies himself as grandfather of the Immortal Saint, making him an elder ancestor of the modern Patriarch. Nine hundred years into the traditional millennium of service expected from an undead adviser, he has maintained the palace, its magical hospitality, and a five-floor memory-crystal archive despite having no living Noxus leader to serve. Wolfe’s arrival gives that long vigil a purpose again. (Chapters 1077–1079)

Researching the path to King rank

Vlad uses examination spells and archived case histories to diagnose Wolfe’s altered cores, secondary mana focuses, and incomplete attunement. He narrows roughly seventy thousand research volumes to relevant precedents, monitors a month-long immersion in the archive, and explains the enlightenment and tribulation expected of a Magi King. His advice does not hand Wolfe a finished answer, but it identifies the missing relationship between personal Elemental magic and the world. (Chapters 1077–1083)

Recorder and family doctor

When Wolfe returns to the final-battle site, Vlad watches from shadow through a remote spell and records the King advancement without exposing himself to daylight. He later advises Cassie and Ella about the newborn heirs, explaining Ivan’s inherited Magi adaptations, the twins’ extraplanar blessings, and the developmental consequences of accelerated pregnancy magic. The Castellan thus becomes a living family physician and historian rather than remaining only an underwater archivist. (Chapters 1086–1092 and 1145–1146)

Appearance and personality

Vlad is an ancient male vampire described as an old man, with red eyes that attract newborn Maria’s attention. The narrative emphasizes a scholarly Castellan rather than a monstrous presentation: he reads, keeps records, casts diagnostic arrays, and receives visitors in an elegant preserved palace. Sunlight remains dangerous enough that portals must be shielded and surface observation conducted from shadow. (Chapters 1077–1086, 1092, and 1145)

He is formal, curious, hospitable, and quietly mischievous. Centuries of isolation have not dulled his excitement over unfamiliar magic or a guest enjoying the palace’s amenities. He respects Noxus protocol but readily accepts Wolfe’s request to use the familiar name Vlad, and his dry commentary balances reverence for Family knowledge with amusement at the new Patriarch’s unconventional life. Magic, abilities, and limitations

Magi diagnostics and advancement theory

Vlad casts layered examination arrays that reveal core count, mana transformation, body reinforcement, bonds, and attunement. His archive knowledge covers King-rank trials, historical core configurations, inheritance patterns, and the magical differences among Magi, Fae, and Demon rulers. He is an expert interpreter rather than a former King: he explicitly says that he never attained that rank and cannot describe it from personal experience. (Chapters 1077–1083)

Archive stewardship and medical knowledge

As Castellan, Vlad controls access to the Noxus archive, indexes memory crystals, maintains recording spells, and preserves adaptive guest rooms and servant magic. His lineage knowledge extends to inherited bodily enhancements, Magi childhood development, Witch awakening, and the effects of pregnancy acceleration. These skills let him distinguish a healthy but unusual infant from illness without pretending that every inherited variation has a fully predictable outcome. (Chapters 1078–1086 and 1145–1146)

Vampire state and sealed magic

Vladimir chose a Vampire form because the protected compound made it convenient, but becoming this kind of undead sealed much of his former magic. He cannot use portal magic as he once could and relies on Wolfe or Lich Lord Asmodai for travel between sites. Direct sunlight is another hard limit, requiring shade, shielded portals, and remote viewing when events occur above ground during the day. (Chapters 1083–1086 and 1092)

• Wolfe Noxus: Vlad recognizes Wolfe as Patriarch, researches his altered mana system, records his reign, and later advises him as a new father. Their relationship restores the Castellan’s active role in the Family. (Chapters 1077–1092 and 1145–1146)
• Cassie Noxus and Ella Noxus: Vlad observes Noxus protocol by contacting Wolfe’s wives during his long study, then answers their questions about their children’s unusual development. (Chapters 1081–1085 and 1145–1146)
• Ivan David Noxus, Princess Maria Noxus, and Princess Calypso Noxus: Vlad serves as the newborns’ lineage expert and medical adviser, distinguishing Ivan’s paternal adaptations from the twins’ Witch and planar traits. (Chapters 1145–1146)
