Crimson Dragon Scale Armor

The Crimson Dragon Scale Armor is an Epic-grade, bracelet-stored armor set made by Lin and bound to Kang Shin. It serves as Shin's principal armor through major dungeon and cross-world battles until its signature skill is extracted and its chest plate is shattered by the Mana Eater. History

Binding and early deployment

Lin awards the armor to Shin after his solo battle with the Grim Reaper. In its dormant state it is a thin reddish-metal bracelet; supplied with mana, it covers Shin in fitted red-and-black dragon-scale armor in less than a tenth of a second, including gauntlets, boots, and a helmet. The first wearer is permanently bound to an Epic item, so Shin becomes its exclusive effective wearer. (Chapters 93, 96, 200)

Shin first deploys it outside the dungeon while covertly hunting in Windermere. Its protection surpasses his Grim Reaper and Dullahan sets, while its charge enhancement combines with his Giant Wolf tattoo for a total one-hundred-and-ten-percent increase to charge attacks. He subsequently relies on it across dungeon floors and other worlds. (Chapters 97, 105–106)

Crimson Roar's extraction and the armor's destruction

Shin considers moving Crimson Roar into the Collector's Pocket Watch well before he has room for it. When the twelfth position becomes available, he extracts the skill from the armor; Crimson Roar completes the watch and triggers Skill Mixer's awakening, but the extraction is not described as destroying the armor itself. During the battle against the Mana Eater in Panan, an attack pierces the Epic armor and shatters its chest plate. Shin later directly accuses the enemy of breaking the armor. He has no usable armor by the following operation, and Lin replaces it with the bracelet-form Pure Black Desire, ending the Crimson Dragon Scale Armor's service. (Chapters 190–192, 199–200)

Abilities and properties

• Bracelet deployment and binding: Mana transforms the thin bracelet into a fitted full-body armor set almost instantly. Once bound, its passive stat benefits apply while Shin wears the bracelet even if he has not deployed the armor, but another wearer cannot receive an Epic item's effects. (Chapters 93, 96)
• Stat enhancement: The original binding notice grants ten points to every stat and an additional ten points to strength and constitution. A later condensed status summary instead lists the extra pair as strength and dexterity; the corpus does not reconcile that discrepancy. (Chapters 93, 114)
• Defense and retaliation: The armor greatly lowers the chance that Shin receives a critical hit and returns part of incoming damage to the attacker. Its raw defense is superior to the earlier Grim Reaper and Dullahan sets. (Chapters 93, 105)
• Charge amplification: Charge-type skills gain sixty percent more power. This stacks with other charge modifiers, including the Giant Wolf tattoo's fifty-percent enhancement. (Chapters 93, 106)
• Crimson Roar: Once per day, and only while the full armor is equipped, Shin can convert the surrounding air reached by the attack into blazing flame. The flames spare him but not allies or the environment, so safe use requires precautions. (Chapter 93)
• Separated skill and physical fate: Extracting Crimson Roar transfers that ability into the pocket watch rather than proving that the armor is consumed. The armor is physically destroyed later when the Mana Eater pierces it and shatters the chest plate. (Chapters 31, 182, 190–192)

Ownership and custody
