Seo Gyu

Seo Gyu, commonly called SG-Man or the Administrator, is the Awakener whose Website Management ability becomes SG Net, the post-collapse public square of the Korean Peninsula. In most early regressions he dies during the Busan Station tutorial before awakening at all. Once the Undertaker keeps him alive, the insecure survivor creates an S-class communications system that works through dead networks, grows into an anomaly prison, and makes his continued survival a condition of public connection. Biography

The fastest death becomes Administrator

Seo Gyu's story begins with a death so consistent that the Undertaker knows him only as the fastest person to die in the world. In the fiftieth cycle, the Undertaker intervenes during the Busan Station tutorial and gives him an unprecedented chance to travel with a party of future A-class Awakeners. Their rapid growth leaves Seo Gyu ashamed of his own apparent lack of talent. He trains obsessively, wanting proof that his survival has not made him a burden, until he finally reports an ability that sounds humiliatingly mundane: Website Management. (Chapter 6)

The first demonstration overturns that judgment. Seo Gyu opens a crude forum on a smartphone even though the ordinary internet and every other application are dead. The Saintess immediately understands that it can join her dispersed Constellation audience into a durable public community, while the Undertaker renames the broader property Ubiquitous: as long as Seo Gyu lives, anyone can reach the square regardless of the collapse of normal communications. Their confidence transforms his embarrassment into purpose and establishes SG Net as an S-class support ability rather than a failed combat skill. (Chapters 6–7)

The rescue does not make every route safe. Go Yuri's passive manipulation reaches Seo Gyu through familiarity and turns him against his companions; in one failure, he draws a pistol and dies before the Undertaker can recover him, and the site becomes unreachable. These routes teach the alliance that their new public square is inseparable from its administrator's mind and life. Seo Gyu is not merely the man who presses moderation buttons. He is the living infrastructure, and any force that subverts him can isolate the entire community at once. (Chapters 13–17)

Holding together a hostile public square

As guilds spread across the peninsula, SG Net becomes their place for recruitment, warnings, rumors, propaganda, and ordinary argument. Seo Gyu registers users, sees identities hidden behind anonymous handles, posts official notices, and creates specialized boards. The service helps isolated groups recognize one another as part of a shared world, but it also gives trolls and manipulators a common audience. Sim Ah-ryeon's OldManGoryeo persona torments the administrator while inadvertently demonstrating how much social power his platform contains. (Chapters 10–13 and 69–74)

Operating the square means confronting dangers that behave like information. During the super monsoon, an administrator notice warning of service disruption alarms users precisely because SG Net almost never goes down. In a later route, Theseus's Ship infects the network and begins changing its interface while Seo Gyu loses control. Killing him would destroy the virtual space, but the Undertaker refuses that solution. The crisis establishes both the platform's extraordinary resilience and its central limitation: Ubiquitous overcomes broken networks, not corruption of the living person who sustains it. Seo Gyu eventually turns moderation into containment. Hundreds of smartphones in his office keep hidden posts open as cells for anomalies unable to distinguish virtual space from reality, while physical prisoners go beneath National Road Management Corps headquarters. He monitors the resulting Cyber Anomaly Prison through a daily routine of sleeping, eating, lifting, and administration, then becomes chief warden of the Corps' monster prison. What began as an awkward message board grows into a national security institution without acquiring a new formal power level. (Chapters 239–240 and 388)

Administrator after the apocalypse

Seo Gyu's later work gives SG Net civic functions beyond emergency chatter. He adds a Missing Persons Board with searchable memorial portraits, supports the Library Society's protected intelligence posts, and operates private channels for the Regression Alliance. He also refuses requests that would turn moderation into personal censorship, leaving Dok-seo's viral posts visible even when she begs. Curse advertisements and instantaneous hostile posts still require the Saintess's Time Stop, showing that responsible administration for him includes knowing when a threat exceeds his own reaction speed. (Chapters 305, 332, 340–341, 398, and 408)

His life outside the screen develops alongside the network. A former personal trainer, Seo Gyu returns seriously to lifting, builds an outdoor gym on Haeundae Beach, and develops robust shoulders and triceps. By the time ordinary life returns, he is successfully competing as a bodybuilder. The change does not erase the timid administrator who deflates before frightening allies or mutters at trolls; it gives him a community whose membership and labor have value apart from apocalypse strategy. Seo Gyu joins the final assault and remains one of the alliance's earliest survivors, even when his loose mouth excludes him from the secret of the false core inoculations and from an American trip. The Undertaker still calls him brother and chooses him for advice when restored memories make the alliance's relationships impossible to navigate. Seo Gyu's calm answer shows that his importance has outgrown the service he runs: the man once rescued as an unknown casualty has become a friend whose experience with connections, conflict, and public chaos is trusted in its own right. Appearance and personality

Seo Gyu is a Korean man whose expressions shift readily between a blush, a grimace, and open outrage. A concealment anomaly eventually reveals that he has always been bald, although the Undertaker's memory had consistently supplied him with hair until the discrepancy was exposed. He worked as a personal trainer before the collapse and later develops a markedly muscular build through sustained lifting, with especially robust shoulders and triceps. (Chapters 6–7, 224–225, 332, and 433)

He begins timid and self-deprecating, measuring himself against spectacular combat talents and assuming Website Management proves he is deficient. Success makes him excitable rather than grandiose: he takes intense pride in traffic, improvements, administrative authority, and later his physique. Under pressure he can be foul-mouthed, reckless, and loose-lipped, but he also has a strong sense of responsibility for any role he accepts. That combination explains both why the tutorial fairy repeatedly kills him and why the alliance trusts him with its shared square. (Chapters 6–7, 225, 332, and 438)

Seo Gyu is socially awkward but not indifferent. His routine can become reclusive, and years of moderating trolls make exasperation his default register, yet he builds communities both online and on Haeundae's beach. He calls the Undertaker hyung or brother, reacts with gratitude to sincere trust, and can give grounded advice when more celebrated allies are trapped inside their own emotions. His recurring “mastermind” performances in doomed routes parody a desire to feel central, while his real importance is the patient work of remaining available. (Chapters 224, 240, 332, and 479)

Abilities and anomalies

Seo Gyu's awakened power is a support system rather than a combat discipline. The Undertaker assesses it as S-class because it defeats distance and infrastructure collapse, but no later numbered level or formal advancement is shown. Its subsequent growth comes from new boards, moderator practices, containment methods, and cooperation with the Saintess and National Road Management Corps.

Website Management and Ubiquitous

Website Management creates and maintains a single online domain that remains accessible when phones have no functioning network and other applications are offline. Users reach an initially crude, early-internet-style forum through ordinary devices, but its availability is sustained by Seo Gyu's awakened existence rather than physical servers. The Undertaker calls the underlying property Ubiquitous: so long as Seo Gyu is alive and functioning, the public square demonstrates same-cycle access across distance, dead infrastructure, and closed Gates. Overcoming temporal barriers is part of Undertaker's S-class rating principle, not a separately demonstrated feature of SG Net. It is broad availability, not omniscience; Seo Gyu must still administer what users do there. (Chapters 6–7 and 111)

Administration and community infrastructure

Seo Gyu can register users, identify people behind anonymous access, publish notices, organize boards, manage posts, and grant administrative privileges. These functions support guild recruitment, missing-person searches, alliance intelligence, private operator chats, and the Saintess's Constellation system. Social effects remain outside direct control: users can lie, swarm, troll, or reinterpret official messages, and deleting a post does not automatically erase an idea already copied across the community. Seo Gyu's power provides the square and its tools, not unquestioned authority over its population. (Chapters 7, 10–13, 70, 332, 340–341, 398, and 408)

Cyber Anomaly Prison

Anomalies that cannot distinguish virtual events from physical reality can be confined inside hidden SG Net posts. Seo Gyu maintains hundreds of logged-in smartphones displaying these isolated spaces and monitors the prisoners as the network's Special Warden. The method complements rather than replaces physical containment: anomalies requiring material seals are transferred to the Corps' underground prison, where he later serves as chief warden. The prison depends on continued supervision and on each captive accepting the virtual frame; it is not a universal seal for every anomaly. (Chapters 239–240 and 388)

Vulnerabilities and operational limits

SG Net cannot function without Seo Gyu, making him its single point of failure. Death shuts the site down, brainwashing can turn his access against the alliance, and a sufficiently compatible internet anomaly can parasitize the ability itself. Extremely fast hostile posts also exceed ordinary manual moderation, forcing him to block the service while the Saintess deletes them inside Time Stop. These weaknesses do not reduce the ability's S-class value, but they explain why his protection, judgment, and willingness to ask specialists for help are part of the network's mechanics. • Undertaker: The Undertaker prevents Seo Gyu's tutorial death, trains beside him, recognizes Website Management's value, and repeatedly treats him as a younger brother. Seo Gyu endures constant teasing but remains loyal, operates the alliance's connective infrastructure, and eventually becomes the person Undertaker calls for candid advice. • Jeong Ye-ji: The Saintess immediately sees the strategic value of Seo Gyu's forum and becomes its essential co-founder and administrator. SG Net gives her Constellations a public setting, while her Clairvoyance identifies anonymous users and her Time Stop handles threats faster than Seo Gyu can manually moderate. • Sim Ah-ryeon: Ah-ryeon's OldManGoryeo persona makes her one of SG Net's earliest and most infamous users. Her trolling torments Seo Gyu and attracts the hostility that powers her Grudge Orb, making their connection an uneasy alliance between platform administrator and the user who best exploits its social dynamics. • Oh Dok-seo: Dok-seo's writing repeatedly spills into SG Net, where reader reactions create both narrative threats and viral comedy. • Noh Do-hwa: Do-hwa's National Road Management Corps gives Seo Gyu's virtual infrastructure a physical institutional partner. Its headquarters houses the material anomaly prison, and Seo Gyu eventually becomes chief warden beneath it while continuing to operate the online cells. (Chapters 169, 239–240, and 388)
• Go Yuri: Yuri's passive manipulation exploits Seo Gyu's sociability and mental vulnerability. Routes in which she subverts him can end in betrayal, suicide, and the collapse of SG Net, establishing her as the threat his infrastructure is least able to solve by technical means alone. Items

Seo Gyu relies on ordinary smartphones, a large phone bank, and gym equipment, but none is an independent supernatural artifact. SG Net and its administrator interface are manifestations of Website Management rather than possessions separate from his awakened ability.
