Assembly Set Shield

The Assembly Set Shield, also called the Assembly Shield Set and Ultimate Defense – Shield Assembly, is Lin TianAo's growing Consolidated Equipment set. Each new shield piece assembles into the same massive weapon, stacking defense, sockets, and special properties in support of his Ultimate Defense path.

History

Five pieces and a costly wager

Lin first displays the five-piece shield while wagering that Zhou Weiqing and Yun Li cannot move him from his position. It amplifies Rock Armour, sustains a barrage from the Overlord Bow, and carries a special efficiency property that lets him maintain his defense far longer than an ordinary five-piece Assembly Equipment user. His hidden Illusory Shield saves him from Yun Li's strike, but Zhou attacks the floor instead of trying to break the shield and wins by knocking Lin from his position. Lin had entered the wager hoping to gain a Consolidating Equipment Master who could perfect the set; after losing, he becomes Zhou's follower. (Chapters 60–61)

The shield remains the center of Lin's tournament combat. He uses Shield Rush as a stunning attack, plants the shield into the arena floor to block an attempt to undermine his footing, and combines the Illusory Shield with body armor to survive a committed thrust before trapping his opponent. These fights establish that the set can be used offensively, but its principal value is allowing Lin to control space and absorb attacks. (Chapters 68, 80–81, and 84)

Custom expansion and frontline defense

Because every new piece must continue the existing assembly, Zhou takes Lin to obtain a custom scroll when he approaches six Jewels. By the time Lin travels with Zhou's party, the shield has six pieces and can briefly withstand attacks from enemies far above Lin's cultivation. He later receives guidance from Long Shiya on controlling and wielding the set. (Chapters 93, 138–139, 150, and 186)

After an assassination attempt, Lin reaches seven Jewels and completes a seventh piece from scrolls acquired on Heavenly Jewel Island. The enlarged shield then blocks a Heavenly King assassin's strike aimed at Zhou, although the opposing eight-piece Assembly Set Sword destroys it in that single clash and sends Lin flying. The shield nevertheless fulfills its purpose by buying a decisive second. (Chapters 200–201)

Abilities and properties

• Stacking assembly: Separate Consolidated Equipment pieces combine into one shield, with power and visible sockets increasing as pieces are added. The path requires a custom scroll for each compatible extension; abandoning that continuity would break Lin's specialized progression. (Chapters 60, 84, 93, and 150)
• Ultimate defense: The shield complements Lin's Earth and Defense Attributes and greatly amplifies defensive Stored Skills such as Rock Armour. Its size can cover his entire body, anchor into the ground, and serve as a movable barrier for allies. (Chapters 60, 84, 150, and 201)
• Illusory Shield: At five pieces the set can create a nearby shield at a position Lin chooses. It has one-fifth the defense of the real shield, is available only once per summoning of the five-piece set, and consumes substantial Heavenly Energy. (Chapters 60 and 84)
• Offensive use and efficiency: Lin can bash with the shield, use its edge like a heavy axe, and employ the imbued Shield Rush to stun a target. One stacked property reduces the set's Heavenly Energy consumption, but maintaining the assembled shield and its skills still incurs a meaningful drain. (Chapters 60, 68, 81, and 84)
• Limits: Extreme speed can pressure Lin's coverage, and the set does not make him invulnerable. Its Illusory Shield can shatter, an eight-piece ultimate-offense Assembly Sword overcomes his seven-piece defense, and dismissing the set prevents an immediate reassembly at Lin's demonstrated cultivation.
