Nigel

Nigel Thornton is the Sydney Network's combat instructor and later a gold-rank field commander. He recognises Jason's otherworldly martial system from combat footage and becomes one of Earth's experienced leaders against vampires and blood oaks. (Chapters 277, 966, 974)

Biography

From analyst to field commander

Nigel first identifies that Jason's style was built around supernatural capabilities rather than adapted from ordinary martial arts, giving Anna evidence for the outworlder theory. Years of escalating war move him from analysis into command. In Seoul he leads a trained silver-rank section into a blood-oak site, demanding honest readiness from every specialist; later, as a gold-ranker, he confronts Gerling while prioritising the team's survival over a clean victory. Nigel uses conjured pistols, tactical command and expert combat analysis. His training lets him evaluate the difference between skill and rank advantage, while his section combines defenders, heavy weapons, healing and portals.
