Killian Laurent is an elven ritualist and criminal fixer whose expertise enables the attempt to implant a Builder star seed in Jason Asano.

Biography

Betrayal as a survival method

Killian serves the Silva family because Cole will indulge appetites the elder Silva would not, and he uses a clandestine network to arrange Jason’s abduction. He prepares and operates the star-seed ritual, taking intellectual delight when Jason resists what should be impossible. Once the ritual collapses, Killian turns on his employer, leaves Cole wounded, steals a large share of the family fortune, and flees Greenstone before investigators find his trail. (Chapters 182, 205–214)

Years later, Killian’s habit of exploiting every partner leaves him valuable enough to keep alive when captured in Rimaros. He trades information about criminal and cosmic affairs while confined under a suppression collar and elaborate ritual restraints. His survival is not redemption: it comes from parcelling out knowledge slowly enough that authorities have reason to postpone execution. (Chapters 530, 583–586, 743)

Skills and abilities

Killian is a capable ritualist with detailed knowledge of star seeds, suppression, and Builder magic. His combat powers include conjuring skeletal arms and bone spikes through the ground. He prefers preparation, proxies, and betrayal to a fair fight; when stronger enemies control the setting, restraints and suppression leave him dependent on information rather than force.
