Biography

A defender lost to the expedition

Jonah begins as the family defender responsible for holding enemies away from Team Geller’s healer and ranged attackers. During the disastrous expedition outside Greenstone, hidden Builder influence turns what should have been a demanding contract into a lethal trap. Jonah dies alongside Henry Geller, and the loss forces Rick’s survivors to stop adventuring until they can rebuild both their formation and their confidence. (Chapters 66–68, 89, 110–111, 123–142)

His death has a concrete tactical consequence rather than serving only as family grief. Dustin takes over the vacant guardian position, changing Team Geller’s membership while preserving the protective structure Jonah once maintained. The reconstructed team’s later success rests partly on answering the exact vulnerability his death exposed. (Chapters 142–143)

Skills and abilities

Jonah is an iron-rank front-line guardian trained to intercept attackers and protect Claire at the centre of the formation. That duty makes him the point most exposed when an expedition is compromised from within; durability and positioning cannot compensate for threats the team does not understand.
