Gladys Erstweller is Australia’s strongest Network healer during Jason’s first return to Earth.

Biography

Medicine across two magical paradigms

Gladys first exhausts herself saving a French silver-ranker from Jason’s unusually resistant holy afflictions, then refuses to let Network politics compromise her patient or her friend Anna. When Jason seeks help for his grandmother’s Alzheimer’s, Gladys treats the request as medicine rather than leverage. She explains that removing disease cannot restore lost memory by itself and builds a longer therapy to reconcile the healed body with a soul shaped by years of dementia. (Chapters 277, 286–290)

Her ethical candour helps make cooperation with Jason possible. Gladys assesses his scars, aura, instability, and knowledge without pretending certainty, while continuing clinical work after he leaves. Decades later she remains an expert bridging Earth biology and magic, collaborating on soul therapy and lecturing on how ambient magic and thaumic DNA interact with inherited illness. Skills and abilities

Gladys is a silver-rank healer with powerful restoration and cleansing abilities, including a limited power capable of removing holy conditions. That cleansing cannot be used rapidly, so resistant afflictions force her to alternate treatment, potions, and life-saving support until each layer can be cleared.
