Garth

Garth is the zemravore high priest commanding Undeath’s forces inside Jason’s transformation zone.

Biography

A commander destroyed by his own stolen power

Garth enters the contest for the transformation zone with an undead army, subordinate priests, and an avatar of his god. He spreads his forces rather than offering a single target and uses their linked command structure to contest territory methodically. His discipline makes him the mind behind Undeath’s otherwise overwhelming numbers, so Boris engineers a plan aimed less at the army than at removing the intelligence directing it. (Chapters 765–785, 800–805)

Boris feeds Garth a messenger heart whose challenge power traps him in a duel with Jason. Garth believes the heart expands his options, but its incompatibility becomes lethal while the power prevents him from discarding it. He recognises too late that Jason is the instrument and Boris the strategist; the heart kills him, and Team Biscuit later destroys the mindless revenant left behind. Without Garth, the Undeath avatar cannot respond intelligently and the priesthood collapses. (Chapters 805–809)

Skills and abilities

As a zemravore, Garth is an undead, many-limbed ritual necromancer who animates and commands large forces rather than relying on essence abilities. He can claim stolen heart powers, including stealth and a celestial howl that detonates undead into transcendent energy. Those hearts require compatibility, and a power that cannot be removed while active turns his own adaptable body into the mechanism of his death. (Chapters 805–809)
