Callum “Cal” Morse is a gold-rank hunter on Emir Bahadir’s original team and one of the finest trackers among Jason’s allies.

Biography

A hunt that became an obsession

Callum first protects Jason from the Builder cult, using stealth so complete that no one below diamond rank should detect him. His professional hunting later becomes consumed by the search for Melody, whose disappearance he cannot accept or resolve. Years of failure turn devotion into an unhealthy obsession and destabilise him, leaving friends to replace him in the team and forcing the people around him to recognise that unmatched competence does not shield a hunter from psychological collapse. After Melody is found, Arabelle remains in Jason’s soul realm to help both of them recover and reconnect. Therapy, time, and the ability to visit Melody make Callum substantially more stable. He eventually rejoins Emir’s original team, where his tracking rats map a hidden pipe network and let Jason kill a blood oak—proof that recovery restores his gifts without erasing the history that made support necessary. Skills and abilities

Callum is a gold-rank stealth and tracking specialist. He can remain unseen by almost anyone below diamond rank, read trails, and conjure rats to explore spaces he cannot enter and predict a quarry’s movement. His powers excel at locating and approaching targets, but prolonged personal fixation can distort the judgment that makes those abilities useful. (Chapters 147–149, 945)
