Akari Asano is a silver-rank swordswoman from the Japanese Network family that shares Jason's ancestry. Biography

Judging the new Asano Clan

Akari approaches Jason as an examiner, testing whether he has the leadership, management and flexibility to sustain a clan rather than merely defeat enemies. Jason rejects her family's authority but accepts the underlying challenge. When the Network fractures, Akari works alongside Anna and Jason's allies, shifting from outside judgement to participation; her family's survival becomes tied to the very clan whose legitimacy she once treated as conditional. Magic and abilities

Akari is lean, precise and highly trained with a straight magical sword. She has silver-rank aura senses and can release controlled waves of force, including deflecting a spray of mud from a moving vehicle. Her efficient style favours discipline over spectacle. (Chapters 344, 425)
