Mirage Mask
The Mirage Mask is a white, blue-runed face covering and a piece of lost dwarven technology that supports Brandon Locke's covert identities.
History
Recovery and covert use
Brandon recovers the mask beside a dead Wraithbound skeleton after killing the chained Wraith. He uses it during Felix Osborn's death and later infiltrations, allowing the identities Moriarty and Jack the Ripper to function separately from his academy life. The artifact can contort into other face-worn forms, including sunglasses, and remains central when Brandon operates in the blackmarket. (Chapters 21–138)
Auction and cult investigation
Ironaxe examines the dwarven construction while Brandon temporarily relies on another mask, after which Brandon retrieves the Mirage Mask for the Twilight auction. He later produces it as evidence during his trial and reshapes it while hunting Wraith cultists, connecting the same physical artifact to both his public defense and his private campaign after Evelyn's death. (Chapters 219–415)
Abilities and properties
- Its white surface carries glowing blue runes and can reshape into different face-worn forms. (Chapters 21 and 219)
- It conceals Brandon's visible identity during covert operations; the corpus does not fully enumerate changes to voice or facial structure. (Chapters 22–247)
