Biography

Blood Crescent Moon's commander

Yi Jihyeon enters the academy examination as leader of Blood Crescent Moon, the current top guild, and immediately challenges the irregular registration placing Brandon and Raven under one tower identity. A former Incandescent Flames vice-leader, she is described as a stronger commander than raw combatant: when rankers enter the tower crisis, she coordinates formations, reads the unknown attackers' danger, and refuses to abandon the young people under her responsibility even after her instincts warn that the mission is a trap. (Chapters 344–357)

Permafrost on the battlefield

Outside the tower, Yi demonstrates Permafrost by freezing the air and terrain around a monster horde, coating her own arm in ice, and raising barriers while directing Blood Crescent Moon's defense. Her affinity descends through Lucian Frost's legacy, and her memories identify her as his mentor. Although grouped with S+ rankers and said to have reached her likely ceiling, her power remains decisive enough to anchor the guild until Pride-linked intruders overwhelm the expedition and slaughter its members. Healing, inheritance, and death

Brandon finds Yi mortally wounded among Blood Crescent Moon's remains. Rather than spend her remaining power on herself, she uses a pure-white glow to ease his injuries, identifies Pride, speaks of Lucian, and asks Brandon to be kind to Evelyn, whose birthday and loneliness still matter to her. Through Brandon's Retribution and binding-vow process, Yi follows the transfer that gives him Permafrost as her remaining will. Drained further, she asks him to see the conflict through and dies in his arms. (Chapters 365–367)

Appearance and personality

Yi is an adult woman with sky-blue hair, light-blue eyes, and a striking battlefield presence. Near death, blood, dirt, pallor, and severe wounds replace that composed image, yet she continues touching and healing Brandon with her remaining hand. She is short-tempered in command meetings, stern with subordinates, and confident in coordinated warfare, but also deeply loyal and self-sacrificing. Her awkward, almost maternal bond with Evelyn and grief for Lucian reveal affection she often expresses through orders, invitations, and mentorship rather than softness. Magic and abilities

• Permafrost affinity: Yi generates extreme cold, freezes terrain and enemies, forms ice armor around her arm, and raises defensive barriers. The affinity is associated with Lucian Frost's lineage and later passes to Brandon as Yi's will. (Chapters 350, 357, 366)
• Healing and transfer: A pure-white glow from Yi's hand reduces Brandon's pain despite her own fatal condition. She then participates in a Retribution and binding-vow exchange through which Permafrost becomes available to him. The exact separation between her healing technique, affinity, and Brandon's vow mechanics is not fully explained. (Chapter 366)
• Guild command: Yi coordinates Blood Crescent Moon rather than immediately taking every fight herself, assigns members against unfamiliar intruders, monitors tower conditions, and personally blocks pursuit when evacuation becomes necessary. Relationships

• Evelyn Cessna: Evelyn once served under Yi at Incandescent Flames, and their bond resembles an estranged mother and daughter. Yi remembers Evelyn's birthday, tries to draw her closer, and uses her final conversation to ask Brandon to treat her kindly.
• Brandon Locke: Yi knows Brandon primarily through Evelyn's proud stories before finding him in the ruined tower. She heals him, entrusts him with revenge for Blood Crescent Moon, and allows Permafrost to continue through him.
• Lucian Frost: Lucian is Yi's student and the central bearer of the frost legacy associated with her own Permafrost. His disappearance or presumed death remains a source of grief and geopolitical consequence.
• Blood Crescent Moon: Yi treats the guild as her command and responsibility. Its coordinated strength makes it Britannia's top guild, and its massacre defines her final request that the perpetrators not go unanswered.

• Blood Crescent Moon insignia: Brandon finds the guild's bloodstained emblem while moving through the massacred tower floor. It leads him toward Yi and becomes the physical sign that Britannia's strongest guild has been destroyed. (Chapter 365)
