Veydran

Veydran is the first disciple of Ouroboros and the leader of the Eternals. Once a nonsentient snake, he rises through every God Stage under his master's care and later commands forces across universes. His devotion to Professor Daniel Caelum, the surviving continuity of Ouroboros, eventually turns him against Apollyon and into an uneasy ally of Neo Hargraves.

Biography

Ouroboros's first disciple

Veydran begins as a poisonous snake without sentience. After the defeated Ouroboros has decided to abandon everything, the snake's simple presence helps him recover the will to live. Ouroboros treats that accident as a debt: he gives the creature sentience, helps it become a God, and takes it as his first disciple. The relationship begins with rescue in both directions rather than ordinary recruitment into a divine school. (Chapters 774 and 813)

Under Ouroboros, Veydran advances from Stage 1 to Stage 9. His developing forms receive successive names, culminating in Veydran or Wei-Long, the Perilous Dragon. Ouroboros celebrates every advancement and calls him the greatest genius he has encountered, even predicting that he might surpass Hades. Veydran remembers the praise with affection and melancholy, preserving the bond long after his teacher survives only through fragments, Remnants, and Daniel's later identity. (Chapter 813)

Leader of the Eternals

As leader of the Eternals, Veydran becomes responsible for forces capable of destroying universes. He enters Julie de Beaufort's universe for another purpose and discovers her unexpectedly. Julie refuses to treat him as an immediate threat, then reveals Ultris beside her. Veydran remains outwardly relaxed but leaves without securing his objective, letting Julie enjoy the reversal after years spent fleeing the organization he commands. (Chapters 689–690)

Veydran later confronts Neo and Ultris with hundreds of thousands of Conquerors awaiting his orders. He recognizes Neo as the Devil of Tyranny and a Heavenbreaker, explains that Apollyon is already returning, and offers to spare Neo's cursed family in exchange for devotion. Neo rejects the offer without consideration. Veydran then prioritizes delay over a direct victory, allowing Ultris's time stop to proceed so long as it consumes the interval before Apollyon's arrival. (Chapters 782–783)

His leadership is strategic rather than blindly trusting. When Shadow Supreme claims to have killed Ultris with a borrowed attack, Veydran immediately doubts the stated motive and orders the Eternals to monitor him. He nevertheless chooses to accompany Apollyon into the True Blessed Land despite the possibility of dying on a second visit. At this point, he remains an enemy of Neo's group and a committed participant in the Eternals' campaigns, not a secret hero retroactively absolved of their destruction. (Chapter 787)

Turning against Apollyon

Inside the True Blessed Land, Veydran reveals that he has betrayed Apollyon. Apollyon's destruction of Daniel's last remnant turns Veydran's loyalty to his master against the Eternals' ruler. He exposes Apollyon's cooperation with the Heavenly Sect to the Martial King and wins a promise of martial support. The True World's divided politics and weakened surveillance give him an opportunity to resist that he did not possess in the Elemental Cosmos. (Chapters 810–811)

The alliance with Neo remains openly hostile. Veydran hates Neo because Daniel's last fragment disappears after passing its Authority to him, and Elizabeth's hidden Technique Spirit is one reason he does not use force when Neo threatens him. Even so, he explains the Heavenly Sect's pursuit, the Machine God's artificial World Energy method, and the danger that cultivators will slaughter people for consciousness-based seeds. Necessity makes them collaborators without dissolving the anger between them. (Chapters 811–812)

Veydran also becomes a teacher. Children in the allied sect enjoy his lessons on rebirth, Cultivator Steps, and the relationship among progression Paths, creating a sharp contrast with the universes destroyed under his command. He tells Neo how Ouroboros raised him and later spars with Neo during preparation for Apollyon. His assessment that Apollyon could defeat either of them explains why he waited for a viable opening instead of making an empty gesture of rebellion. (Chapters 813 and 825–826)

During the final approach, Veydran remains part of the network defending Neo and watching the Heavenly Sect's forces. Neo explicitly rejects the suspicion that Veydran or Paul betrayed their location. After Apollyon seals advancement beyond Third Step, Neo meets Veydran, Zeus, and Mars and helps stabilize the battles' aftermath. The alliance therefore survives its immediate act of revenge, although the text does not depict a full personal reconciliation between Veydran and Neo. (Chapters 827 and 831)

Appearance and personality

Veydran appears in human form with Professor Daniel's face, a resemblance that immediately unsettles people who knew Daniel. The story nevertheless identifies them as separate acting identities: Daniel is Ouroboros and Veydran's master, while Veydran is the disciple standing before Neo. His earlier existence passes through serpent and dragon forms, but the novel emphasizes their names and progression more than stable physical descriptions of each stage. (Chapters 689, 782, and 813)

He is controlled, observant, and difficult to provoke into wasting strength. Veydran smiles through Julie's defiance, declines to interfere with Ultris when delay serves his aim, and treats Shadow Supreme's convenient explanation with immediate suspicion. With children, he is patient enough that they complain when his class ends. These sides are not presented as proof of hidden innocence; Neo explicitly remembers the countless universes Veydran has helped destroy while recognizing that affection and atrocity can coexist in one person. (Chapters 689–690, 783, 787, and 813)

His deepest loyalty is personal rather than institutional. The snake that was given a mind never stops defining Daniel as teacher and benefactor. That bond sustains his rise within the Eternals but also provides the point at which obedience breaks: when Apollyon destroys Daniel's last remnant, Veydran chooses revenge and accepts the risk of opposing a vastly stronger ruler. Powers and limitations

Stage 9 God

Ouroboros raises Veydran through every God Stage from Stage 1 to Stage 9. The completed progression makes him one of the Eternals' most formidable native Gods and supports his authority over Conquerors. It does not make him Ouroboros, the Supreme of Time, or the owner of every Authority held by his teacher. His Daniel-like face and first-disciple status establish relationship and visual continuity, not an identity merge. (Chapters 774, 782, and 813)

Third Realm martial arts

Veydran is a Third Realm Martial Artist inside the True Blessed Land. The realm allows him to threaten Neo, survive local restrictions, spar during Neo's recovery, and operate among the Martial Alliance. Apollyon holds the same formal God Stage and Martial Realm but can defeat him decisively because technique, experience, and combat quality create a large difference within the shared labels. (Chapters 810–811 and 825–826)

Knowledge and intelligence networks

His greatest practical advantage is information. Veydran understands both Cosmos-based God progression and True World cultivation, maintains acceptance within the allied sect, communicates over the Eternals' network, and secures cooperation from the Martial King. He can explain artificial Element Seeds, Qi scarcity, rebirth, and Apollyon's methods. These are learned capabilities and institutional resources, not evidence of a separate formal rank. (Chapters 787 and 810–813)

Limits

Veydran cannot defeat Apollyon directly. He judges that Apollyon could defeat him in three moves inside the True Blessed Land and one move outside, even though both are Stage 9 Gods and Third Realm Martial Artists. A second passage through the Blessed Land can also kill him despite his prior survival. His rebellion consequently depends on timing, secrecy, allies, and Neo rather than superior personal force. Professor Daniel Caelum / Ouroboros

Ouroboros gives Veydran sentience, divinity, training, and a succession of names after the snake inadvertently restores his hope. Daniel is the later Time Remnant and identity through which that teacher's legacy reaches Neo. Veydran's grief when Daniel's final fragment disappears is the decisive motive for betraying Apollyon, even though he initially resents Neo for receiving the fragment. (Chapters 774 and 810–813)

Neo Hargraves

Veydran begins by offering Neo submission under Apollyon, then later needs him as the only viable challenger. He instructs and spars with Neo while continuing to hate him over Daniel's loss. Neo accepts the practical alliance but never forgets Veydran's destruction of universes. Their relationship is a necessity partnership grounded in a shared enemy rather than forgiveness or friendship. (Chapters 782–783, 810–813, and 825–831)

Apollyon

Veydran serves as Apollyon's principal subordinate among the Eternals and understands how far the power gap between them extends. Daniel's destruction breaks that allegiance. Veydran uses the True Blessed Land to seek Martial Alliance aid and train Neo, but avoids a direct challenge that would achieve nothing. Apollyon remains both his former leader and the target of a carefully delayed act of revenge. (Chapters 787 and 810–826)

Julie de Beaufort and Ultris

Julie has lost her former life to the Eternals and enjoys being protected by an ally Veydran cannot casually overcome. Ultris treats Veydran as a combat enemy and later thwarts the Eternals' attempt to seize Neo. Veydran responds to both with strategic withdrawal or delay, making their encounters contests over objectives and timing rather than completed personal duels. (Chapters 689–690 and 782–783)

Items

No notable personal artifact is consistently attributed to Veydran. The Eternals' network is organizational infrastructure, and the Authority fragments inherited from Ouroboros belong to a broader succession history rather than a manifested item carried by Veydran in his scenes.
